Living out in the country my in-laws have about 30 cats (that's with about 12 kittens) and the rest are kittens that have grown up there. One of the grown female ones just keeps getting pregnant. Do you think this is too many cause I do!?

it depends on how big your space is... too many cats is when you can't handle them all at once.

I made a mistake when I said they have 2 acres. It's 3 acres. It's enough space but it's just crazy when you see them all out at once!

They live in the country. They try to take them in to get them fixed but something always goes wrong. Either they can't find them when it's time to go in or they get them there and they start freaking out and the place won't do it.

I think it is a bit too much. I would get the cats fixed and the kittens too. If your in laws are older they do have to start thinking about who is going to take care of the cats when they are unable to. I am sure there are very few things that hurt the cats so they are probably living for 13+ years like a house cat would. Even on a few acres of land, 30 cats is too many. There is no way they can take care of them as they should be.

Well, it depends on the house, or the sapce that all the cat's will live. I think 5 cats are enough for a regular family, but some just love cats and they keep on taking care of those small kittens, instead of giving those cats to other relatives or friends or let others adopt them.

I think 10 cats is a lot already, and 10 cats will be messy I guess and your house will be all crowded when they produce more.!

I don't think any of these cats are leaving any time soon. They have plenty of food and a big space to hang out in. They're pretty much here to stay.

Well I think that as long as the cats are being taken care of then there are not too many. I do however think that the animal population is way overpopulated and so I don't really like to hear about breeding...too many cuties out there without a home to go to.

I think its too many, I would have the queen cat neutered, as much for her own health as to reduce the constant number of kittens. They in turn will catch a lot of birds and small mammals and that is usually not a good thing. I love cats, but we have to be responsible about them.

I sorta live out in the country, if you consider mountains the same. I have two grown cats and 4 kittens and it is way to much. The mom cats gets spayed next week and the kittens will be old enough to get new homes..Even with nothing but a forest for my backyard..It's too many to keep them...so many cats and dogs as it is that have no homes..
