Which do you think makes the ideal pet? A cat or dog? I always preferred a dog just because I felt safe having my dog around when I was alone.

Yes, dogs as pets will be forever man's best friend. This trust has developed only after our long association with them.

My preference has always been for cats...they are more independent and you don't have to walk them.

I like both it depends on how much time you have to spend with your pet. Cats are much more inddependent and are much easier to take care of then a dog.

Both could make an ideal pet. A cat is better if you don't have much space. A dog needs more excercise, so you'll have to play with it or take it for walks, and for it to do it's business. A cat needs only a sandbox for it's business, so it's easier. A cat likes to be lying around, a dog is more active. A dog will warn you if there's someone prowling around.

I guess it depends on your living arrangements, time, and preference. Some people are strictly cat or dog lovers. I love them both! Cat's are more independant. You can leave them with fresh water, food and litter and take a weekend trip. They don't need to be trained either. A dog is more likely to have seperation anxiety, because they are naturally pack animals. This could lead to misbehavior ((soiling carpets, chewing, getting into the garbage..ect.)) A good dog stems from good training, which could take a lot of time and/or money. My puppy, Sunny, is my sunshine... he makes me happy when skies are gray. He makes me feel safe, lying by my side at night. He also senses when I'm not feeling great and will shower me with doggy kisses. My kitties are very lovey for kitties, they cuddle and literally hug you. I never sleep better than with a kitty curlded up to my neck, purrrring so sweetly. They also entertain us for hours with their kitty-play.

i think dogs because they are so loyal and so lovable to have them around. i had cat as pet and it used to go to others house for food and one day it stopped coming .... cats are so faithless, even though cute they are not loyal unlike dogs

I like both. However, living in an apartment cats are much better because you don't have to worry about walking them or them barking and annoying the neighbors.
