I'm working in a newspaper company. Recently we heard that another newspaper will take over our company. This news makes everybody in panic. Since no direction was given, everybody is in the dark of what will happen to them. They afraid they will be terminated when the merging take place. I myself in fear of what will happen to me in the future. The company I'm working now pay for medical at the specialist. I'm not sure after the merger, they will provide the same.
If you are on my shoe, what would you do ?

u should gain lot information about the company who will merge with your company. How is their policy to their employement and anything else. But its better to you to find another field work, just in case if their policy not to match with you already had at now.

I think there's nothing to fear about, if you know that you can find a better company afterwards. You can find a better company depending on your capabilities of course. Just keep it up and you'll get by.

I've had that happen to me before. I waited till it came down to what was going to happen, and I didn't care for the new company so I found another job. I'd ride it out a little bit till more reliable information starts coming in as to what's going to happen. Then make your decision. Who knows, the new company might end up being better, and have better benefits for you. If they're merging, they're still going to need people to run the extra work brough on.

I have gone thru the samething where we as employee are being kept in the dark. my advice to you is that do not panic, always asked update from your superior or your colleage. The other thing is that start looking for another job with another company, there are many head hunters who are willing to help. So start updating your resumes and start sending them to head hunters. all the best.
