Last night a friend of mine was talking about how he wouldn't work if he didn't have to and how the word "work" comes from "tripalium" a torture device LOL. I know a lot of people feel that way, what about you?

I owuldn't work if I didn't have to. I have enough things to do at home and enough activites with my son to keep me busy. Plus if I didn't have to work I could finish my degree sooner.

I retired some time ago for health reasons, though it was my choice to do it. Some people told me to think it twice, perhaps thinking I could get depressed. I think that only workaholics get depressed when they retire. There are many other things to do.

Sure why not? What are you going to do stay home and surf the web? Don't get me wrong but I love staying home with my children, but I also miss the adult conversations that you would have when you go to work.

Due to outer circumstances i am not allowed to work anymore where we are right now and luckily enough there is not really a need for it as Hubby makes enough for a descent living BUT I definitely would start working right away if I could ..I don;t see work as torture but as a way to express myself and to prove myself I am worthy ..

No. I don`t work now and I don`t have to. I don`t want to. I am a stay-at-home mom and proud of it. Some people are work addicts and work three jobs even though they don`t have to?!

I wouldn't call it work, but I won't spend the rest of my life watching TV and ordering pizza, and chatting. If money wasn't a problem I'd probably write and draw and create independent films to pass the time. I don't feel well if I don't do anything.
Then again, practice makes perfect. If I lie around all day I'd probably get the hang of it. LOL.

One has to work even when when is not required from money point of view. Idle man's brain is devil's workshop, haven't you heard of this? Secondly, when you are idle at home, you are inviting a lot of illness and diseases, because you will not be having sufficient exercise for your body. Also family members may look down on you, because you are always there doing nothing and they have to do a lot of things for themselves. So it is better to work and have respect.

Yes I would work even if I didn't have to. I like to have my own things in life and I wouldn't want to have to ask for money.

Yes, I think I would, but maybe just part-time. I would be to bored not being able to work.
