Do you really always wash hands before you go to eat?

I was taught to always wash my hands before eating and so it is just something that I automatically do. Also wash them after going to the toilet, before cooking a meal and things like that.
I think it is just hygenic to do so. And like someone else mentioned I have those 'wet washers' in the car glovebox so give my hands a wipe after driving etc.

Yes always, except when I go for a McDonald´s drive in, and have to eat in the car. I don´t wash with water but get a clean with (don´t know in english)wet cleenex.

sometimes I do smetimes I don't...no matter what we do everything we eat is covered in bacteria and germs and yadda yadda anyway...so I guess in less you have been sticking your fingers in a butt or been dealing with things in gerneral with your hands, washing them is not really going to make as much of a difference as we are trained to believe

Yes, it is better to touch the thing(especially the tip of it with clean hand).
Females, who clean the inner part of it after urination, are also supposed to use pre-washed fingers. That may help in avoiding several infections.
Thanks for the bold question. But we are talking about --'before taking food'...

Absolutely agree. I wash my hand every time I go into the kitchen and every time I leave the bathroom. It is extremely important to wash often. The most germs found are on the handles of shopping carts, yeah. Best be gettin' some 'wipes'.

I always wash my hands befors eating! For one thing, I have 30 cats and I must wash my hands constantly cause I am always cleaning up hairballs, vomit, cat boxes, spitty cat toys, old catfood, loose hairs, over turned waste baskets, (the cats love to do that)! And a multitude of other things!

Yes, I do. The germs accumulated by our hands the whole day is enough for us to be sick. We have to make sure our hands are clean before we eat. It's better to be sure than sorry later.

Of course I do. And not only when I'm going to go to eat, but during the day too. I always need to have my hands clean, or I feel like I can't do anything.

I totally agree with you! I have a very sensitive stomach and so I am doubly careful about washing my hands.
