My husband would not see it as an option, and not for religious reasons. He said that uncircumsized boys feel like they don't "fit in" and our boy would be circumsized. I am all for it. But I believe that it is a choice of the parents and it doesn't really matter much.

I am from the USA and I would say not to do it because I think it is taking away a part of the manhood it would be like cutting the labial lips off a baby girl. Thank you for your comments, a plus comment for you

Actually it is a personal choice but nowadays, practically everyone does it. I have never seen an uncircumcized male, that is how uncommon it is.

I wouldn't go so far as saying that everyone does it. 55.9% of babies were circumcised in USA, 9.2% in Canada, 10-20% in Australia/New Zealand, and 0.9% in UK. I would hardly say that "practically everyone does it".
Just food for thought, if it is so unclean why shouldn't we circumcise women as well? (as it is possible to do). Thank you for your comments a big positive plus to you.

I would think it would be best to let the child decide when he turns 18? I just don't see people coming forth on these forums saying "let's circumcise my baby girl". Have a nice day and big plus comments to all of you on this thread :).

I believe that if financially posible all baby boys should still be circumsized. It is alot cleaner for them and alot easier to keep clean. Less chance of it getting an ifnection because with the circumsion the forskin is gone so no dirt/bacteria can hide up there.

The natural p.e.n.i.s has smega which is similar to the stuff under your toenails. Smega fights bacteria and virus, therefore if someone with a natural p.e.n.i.s or a circumcised p.e.n.i.s washes properly there won't be any problem, you know? Plus comment for you

I think its an ok thing to do my son was circumsized, but its completely up to your beliefs on whether or not you get it done. I decided on it because of the health reasons and because i didnt want my son to grow up and be extremely different than most boys and have to go through the pain of getting it done later ... if he chose to do so.

But it is traumatic to babies too! Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumcision and watch the infant circumcision please. He should be able to choose because it is HIS body. Have a nice day and I gave you a plus for your kind words.

I have had two bladder infections and I am circumcised. I am thinking it has to do something with diet, honey. Garbage in and garbage out, right? Have your nephew drink cranberry juice make sure it is 100% and that he brushes his teeth afterwards. Have a nice day and a big positive plus for your comment.

My baby was circumcised in the hospital the day after he was born. I really didn't like the idea because I didn't want him to feel any pain, and I am sure that babies do feel pain during this procedure, in spite of what people say. But he just spent the day sleeping after that, and the I let the nurse change his diapers for the rest of that day because I was a little squamish. And now I am glad that he is curcumcised.
I understand it's for better health and hygiene, to prevent certain STDs and a certain type of male cancer.

I think the STD study is flawed, but I think that is a little bit off topic, if you want to know just send me a message about it. As the saying goes "if it isn't broke, then don't fix it." And I think that applies to circumcising either baby boys or baby girls. A big plus for your comments

Yea, my baby was circumcised. It's supposed to help prevent future infections. But it's your decision if you want it done.

If a baby is not circumsized the area under the foreskin can become infected if it is not kept clean. The child has to be taught to pull back the fore-skin and clean that area of his body to avoid complications.
These complications are indeed rare and circumcision is more of a religious matter than that of a medical one.

We didn't have a choice with our first son. He had a hypospadius and had to be circ'd. Daddy is circ'd and with our oldest done as well, we also did our youngest. We had to wait a year to get our oldests done and it was difficult keeping it clean so I am glad we got it done. When he reaches the age that I can't bathe him anymore, I would worry he wouldn't keep it clean enough.

My son also had hypospadius (sp?) but my doc didn't recommend circumcision (we weren't planning on it anyway) because if he had prblems later on they'd be able to use the forskin to correct it.

i think if there's no risk of infection for the child then he shouldnt be circumcised.it's up to the child later on in his lfe whether he wants to get it done or not.circumcising an infant..to me it's just wrong, because you are denying that infant's right to not be circumcised, should he regret it later.

A BIG KUDOS to you. I am circumcised and I think it should have been my choose to decide if I wanted to do it or not. I agree with all your words and I am giving you a BIG plus positive because you are very intelligent. Thank you and have a nice day.

Yes, all males should have to get circumsized, to avoid having an infected organ, can also prevent spreading STDs or other diseases, and I think it will make you feel more comfortable and be more confident as a man.
