The only thing that hurt anywhere near that initial pain was, since they put the nerve into a capsule of some sort and rebuilt a tooth, a year later it got all nasty and infected, and the pressure was very intense. Everytime I walked out into hot or cold rooms or outside, I would nearly collapse from the pain. And I'm not someone to cry easily either! I have broken quite a few bones and that didn't hurt anywhere near this bad. I finally had a root canal on the tooth after that, and now it can't feel pain anymore. :)
I enjoyed the root canal because I am weird. It was absolutely fascinating and not painful at all.

The emotional pain of losing my sister and best friend suddenly about 10 years ago was the most difficult and devastating pain I've ever experienced. She was my closest friend, my running around buddy, my church buddy, my spiritual and prayer buddy...she left a very large hole in my life which took many years to come to terms with.

I had an ex-partner who pushed me backwards into a wall knocking me out, I still have a lump on the back of my head from the scar, don't think he meant to do it really I just caught the corner. The few moments before I passed out it really hurt and it did for a few days after but I'm quite tough - never had more than a broken nose so I've never really been hurt. The saying goes :~ Where there's no sense there's no feeling;

My wrist was dislocated in a car accident, that wasn't so bad. It was after surgery that was bad. They had to put anchors in my bones, sew the ligaments and attach them to the anchors. Then they put 2 pins in my wrists that stuck out. The nerve was damaged in my wrist. They had to make 2 cuts, top and bottom. Recovery and healing time was long. I was in a cast for 4 months. My hand felt like it was being held in a blazing hot fire, My fingers felt like they were going to explode. Shots of morphine didn't help. 2 percocets barely helped. It was the absolute worse, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I have also had bad toothaches that were unbearable.

That's an easy one. I've had two kidney stones, and those rival childbirth for the top spot. The first time I had one I thought I was dying. I hurt so badly that I just laid on the bed and cried until my husband came back from wherever he was. The pain builds and then becomes unbearable, and it doesn't subside like labor pains do. It's a constant pain. I went to the hospital where they put me in an ER room and discussed me for a couple of hours before they gave me a pain killer. What a relief. After that, it was easy to wait until the stone passed. The 2nd time I tried to tough it through because I didn't want to go to the nearby ER facility, but it finally got so bad that I gave up and went anyway. I wonder how people stood such things back in the days when they didn't have the painkillers to give them.

I have had some pretty bad headaches. They might be considered migraines. Nausea and not being able to move around for fear of throwing up; even worse when hubby is lying in bed next to me. I haven't had kidney stones but have heard they are brutal, and my teeth have been pretty healthy all my life (only one filling).

mine is more of emotional pain than physical, it's when i'm deceived and betrayed that i hurt the most. and the scar is deeper, damage on trust is hard to cure.

That one is easy, I had an impacted, infected wisdom tooth. Holy crap. ANy pain to do with the mouth is the most excruciating pain. It feels like a million hot needles invading your jaw.

When I broke my ankle. When it broke, it sounded like a stick breaking.

Toothache is the worst type of pain I have ever experienced. I know it sounds trivial but it's agony. You can't eat, you can't sleep, you live from painkiller to painkiller. If it wasn't for codeine, I don't know how I could have coped with it.

Oh man.... definitely when I had a root canal done a few years ago. It seriously felt like they were shoving knives up into my jaw! It was the most painful time in my life!
