I am innocent myLot!

I also copy my discussions especially if long because i do sometimes lose it all and then left to type it all out again! i think it is just the copy and pasting of other peoples discussions that is banned!

i dont think you have did anything against the rules of mylot.it is due to some technical problems that you can't post.to be honest i usually copy my response before pressing the submit button for all the responses.because sometimes after typing a long response and pressing the submit button may go for a blank page and i cant retype mine.

I often copy my post before submitting it, and for the same reason. All too often I get an aborted submission. This is not in contravention of any rules because you are still making a genuine response in your own words. The issue concerning copying and pasting is that many people have copied someone else's post and pasted it into a discussion as their own, which is obviously an unacceptable practice. If you had a problem for a period of time, then you can rest assured that this was not the cause of it.

I think what they mean is copying other peoples post. Did you get a warning? I have reported someone many times for doing just that and he is still posting. But I don't see anything wrong with you copying your own discussion. Sometimes I have a hard time replying too, I think its just a problem with the server.

First off, do you know for sure than Mylot kept you from posting something? Did they tell you this? It could have just been another one of the many system problems we've been having. I wouldn't think there'd be a problem with pasting something, unless you were pasting the same answer into different discussions.

I am not sure that was the problem at all peizli, because I did not copy, cut or paste anything and yet last night I had the same problem. This happened several times, so I logged off and went to check out a few other things. Came back again and it was still happening, so I quit for the night. I think it might have been a problem with myLot itself, because in between logging off and when I first came back, there was a notice saying they were doing an upgrade. Annoyed me no end, because I had made several rather long responses as well as tried to post a new discussion. Now I cannot remember what they were either. DRAT.

Of course you are innocent, Mylot were only talking about the users who copy & paste other users (even partial) discussions, or those who type a message and copy it, then paste it into a lot of different discussions. I do the same as you (copy the text in case i lose it) as long as you don't abuse the copy & paste e.g. pasting the same answer more than once then you are within the rules of mylot. The blank pages that you mentioned are simply a matter of the server being overloaded or a bug in the Mylot system this can not be helped as the user base on mylot has exploded over the last few months and it is only natural for us users to have some problems, but we can endure these as the site itself is so good.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with what everyone else is saying. There's no copy and pasting content that other users have posted already. But I got the white screen quite a few times this morning, but I think that was because mylot was upgrading, as it was being incredibly slow.

It was probably some kind of tech problem that resolved itself. I don't think the system can tell when you are copying and pasting. MyLot just figures it out after they look at it (if you copied). Once in a while tech problems happens here like every other website.

Hmm well I had to copy and paste MY discussions because the stupid thing wouldn't let me post!! But yeah it's not your responses, it's others. And why did I lose 12 cents???? I didn't do anything wrong other than cuss about the problems here which have been legit!!

Perhaps you might like to use a notepad to do it, and then you can try that. I had a bit of a problem with some of my discussions and the images I chose for it. Perhaps you could send a 'private message' to myLot to ask them what the problem was.

I do bilieve you are innocent,becouse I got the same problem yesterday,so I guess it is server overload problem,letz wait it getting better...

that's the usual problem with mylot, and even I , across a lot of white screens, and there is definitely no harm in copying your response and keeping it safe. and this won't be treated as copying because the response has been posted only by you and it is your genuine response.

This will be a warning for those who used other peoples post. I hope everybody should follow the rules of this site. It's just an easy task but it seems others are not willing to cooperate. I hope it won't happen again to you dude. I feel sorry for you.
