If you go to this site
www.weightlossresources.co.uk
and sign up for a free trial, you can put in all your details and it will tell you exactly how many calories are burnt doing different sorts of excercise. It will vary depending on your age, height, weight and fitness so there is no single table of data to look at

Probably a couple miles a day, if you are eating right and drinking lots of water.

Walk 30 minutes a day.. You will lose weight! It's best if you do some strength training, drink lots of water, and eat healthy also. Jumping rope is a great easy way to lose weight too.

i'm not really sure..but i can suggest something that works much faster if you have the guts to try it.
apparently 15 minutes of this workout equals 30 minutes of jogging, which is normally about triple a brisk walk (such as on your treadmill). so you can achieve the same results in less time.
it is called turbo jam, you can see infomercials for it on tv in north america.
it is more or less a combination of aerobics, kick boxing and dancing.
if you want more info, i think i will start a topic on this or maybe there's already one that exists...
