Rather then dieting, make a permanent change to your eating habits. Try to eat foods that are overall lower in fat and higher in protiens. Take in less salt and sugars. In general we all eat too much salt and when we eat too much we retain a lot of water. By eating less salt and sugar we do not allow our bodies to retain as much water so we will drop water weight. You can lose as much as ten pounds alone like that. No fast food at all. You have got to cut that stuff out. Not only is it high in fat, but it's also bad for your immune system. Since I stopped eating it everyday I have not been sick once. It sounds crazy but all of the additives and preservatives they add to that stuff is hard for your body to break down and you become more succeptable to illness. Eat smaller portions of food when you sit down for a meal. You will feel hungry for a couple of weeks like this but your body will adjust. Also you can try eating smaller meals with healthy snaks in between. This will promote a faster metabolism and a faster metabolism will help your body be more efficient in burning off unwated pounds. Try a liht excercise program. Even if it is walking just one mile a day that is something. Work your way up from there, you can do it if you really try. Eventually work your way to jogging or running, or join a gym if you have the money. I went through something similar 3 years ago. The weight loss process takes longer but it is permanent. I dropped 25 pounds in roughly 4 months. My excercise program was pretty tough though, but even with the excess weight I was already in great shape. The most important thing was chagning my eating habits, without that I would have only lost half as much.

I had the best luck with Medifast. Their website is www.medifast1.com. It was really easy to follow and I wasn't hungry. I'm pregnant right now but as soon as I have the baby I'm going back on it to lose the baby weight.

try decreasing your intake of carbohydrates, and increase on fruits and vegies. Avoid soda and try natural juices. Avoid junk foods and fast food. And workout, and shed those pounds. It worked for me, I am now 15lbs lighter. And still going down.

You cannot diet. You have to change your lifestyle permanently. My big thing is sugar. I love sugar. I could not give up my cookies so I changed to no sugar added cookies. As a result I eat fewer cookies. If I decide to treat myself to an Oreo or Girl Guide cookie I will have about five or six. One no sugar added cookie is enough to satisfy my sugar craving. Exercise is important for everybody - if you are trying to lose weight or not. You need to get your heart pumping and your endorphins moving. This is important for overall good health. Smaller portions is good however, Dr. Phil put a cookbook out that consisted of delicious tasting food. The idea was to make the food tasty so you wouldn't feel deprived. The only problem is that the food was so good I went back for second and third servings. Ha ha ha!

I was fat before and what i did was to have liquid diet. That means i took more water and juice than taking in food. I simply avoided and im still avoiding fatty foods. Avoid eating burgers, french fries, butter, and other dairy products. You have to exercise too. It is needed to tone up your skin and muscles. Pills and other things can not help you if you continue excessive eating.

Yes,i can help you out! After all i was 51kg and now im 40kg,everyone keeps asking me,how did u lose so much weight?Believe me,say no to dieting! It will only ruin your health! And as you said, dieting is only for temporary weight loss, not for a permanent one!Firstly eat a balanced nutritional meal, try and avoid fats and carbohydrates in excess!Im not saying that dont eat chocolates, cakes, ice creams, etc.eat it,but remember in less proportion! The best thing to do is excersize, dont think that it is a punishment,do what you enjoy the most, swimming, dancing, jogging, walking, etc.just sweat it out and if you need more help then feel free to ask me!After all i have tried and tested this method, and believe me it really works, all you need is control, determination, encouragement, advice and support!

Oh.....you must have put on too much weight and going on diet will be like sacrificing a lot for you...isn't it? one thing, if you lose enough weight after dieting also, you should stick on to your regular diet like before .That doesn't mean that you can eat any junk food all the time since you lost weight because of dieting.Losing weight is difficult, but gaining weight is easy..remember this...

i think that's the problem with dieting. most people think of it as a quick fix, and assume their new weight will stay if they stop the diet once they reach their desired weight. unfortunately, it usuaally doesn't work that way ;) so you would either need to maintain your diet even after you lose the weight, or combine better eating habits with more exercise. as other people have mentioned, drinking lots of fluids is an excellent way to digest everything you eat faster, and also trick your system into thinking it's fuller than it really is :) so you won't get as hungry between meals! a good fluid to help you along is green or white tea...actually most teas are good for digestion and the metabolism. if you feel too full after a meal, a nice tea to use is called pu-erh. it tastes pretty gross, but soothes stomach aches and aids breaking down the fats of food.

I think the best thing is to find a diet for life. If you lose weight while on a diet, thats a good sign. The best thing is to find a diet plan you can stick to for the rest of your life. I hope you have not been crash dieting to lose weight. Go to a nutritionist if you need help

I am trying to lose 50 pounds as well. I lost two and a half last week. I refuse to diet though. Instead, I am changing eating habits. I am only changing habits that I know I can keep up with for the rest of my life and it wont' just be a fad I go through. The first step I took was to start eating breakfast every morning. This helps with metabolism. The next thing was to slowly increase my water intake until I was up to 64 ounces per day. By doing this you will also lose water weight, your body will feel better as well. Then I decided my goal was to get 5 fruits and/or vegetables every day. I have stopped buying junk food, but if I want a treat now and then I allow it. I have been trying to pay close attention to portions and make sure that I am not over eating. I get plenty of food, I don't feel hungry, but I don't let myself eat until I feel extremely full. If I didn't get enough to eat I snack on fruit in between meals.

Have you ever heard of Curves? My mother in law swears by them. She lost over 100 lbs just by going to them 4x a week and by changing just a couple little things in her diet. I have tried it a couple of times, but injuries to my neck and back, keep me from doing a lot with machines.
