during.
By saying "after", I think divorce. While couples tend to get comfortable with each other and let the romance slip to the side sometimes, it's still a great feeling knowing that you have that soft place to fall. I would never want to go back to the dating life now. I've found the person to spend my life with and have a family with. Yes, there are days when we hardly talk. There are days when we can't stand to look at each other. And there are days when we couldn't be more in love.
It's important to put your relationship as a top priority. If you do that, and commit yourself to having a long and lasting marriage, it can be the best years of your life.

Speaking from my personal experience, things seem to change as we start to get accustomed to each others ways the longer we're into it. By being married it means that you are committed to one person for as long as you both shall live. Both parties know this and tend to find it becoming more of a habit as their life progresses together. When you first meet, it is a romance that makes you feel warm inside, as time goes on, it seems as though it starts to cool down.
I am definitely not speaking for everyone, because I know that there are married couples out there that still love each other immensly. I just think that is very rare to find a true, deep, everlasting love such as that. But, I could be wrong. Maybe it is just because I have not found it myself.
Good luck on your quest and I hope you get the answer you are looking for.
