The best anti virus software is kaspersky anti virus on kaspersky.com. the best firewall is agnitum outpost firewall professional but both of these products aren't really cheap.

I am using AVG Free Edition.. why? because its free to download, and it only consume few memory.I seldom use norton anivirus, because it consume large amount of memory...specially during start-up/boot-up.It's not advisable to use norton for slow computer..If you want to use norton better upgrade ur PC..

Well I really don't think theres any best antivirus out there....we only can get the average performance from it.....and I think most of it just work fine for our computer.......the right habits like keep your antivirus up to date was the main factor to keep your computer safe from virus. In fact I tink nowsday adware/spyware were the most unwanted things on our computers.

blah norton sucks, I have a high end pc and have been dealing with computers since the age of 15, I am now 29. Norton has to be one of the worst antivirus programs available to anyone, as it uses too many processes, now for the best security for your computer, I personally recommend using avast antivirus and sygate firewall. seeing as both programs are free, and both avast has a built in webshield aka firewall, both programs will help secure your computer from malicious activities

dellion you are correct, adware and malware are the worst to appear on your computer, especially that friggin Cool Web Search bar, but its things like this that put people off computers, and the only thing that we can do to help stop this is secure our computers from these people that think that these stupid adware will help them make money.

Norton and McAfee are basically malware themselves, they're bloated to high hell and back.
Avast or aVg. I personally have enjoyed Avast, there's a free version.
