THE STORM OF THE CENTURY WAS VERY GOOD AND IF YOU GET THE BOOK THE MOVIE IS ALMOST WORD FOR WORD

That's because Storm of the Century was originall written as just a screen play. The book was just taken from the movie.

I like the movie as its own thing. I hated it the first time I saw it for the same reasons King did: it had nothing at all to do with the book.

Panipuri - Panipuri
While I prefer the books, the best movie would a have to be the all time classic, Carrie. This would be the original production with Sissy Spacek in the starring role. Misery was definitely the next best as is reeked with malevolence...the sledge hammer to the feet was enough to make the stoutest heart cringe!

I never saw Carrie 2. I know that most sequels or remakes are not anywhere near as good as the originals. Also, Stephen King oversaw the production of Carrie so I knew it would stick fairly close to the book...which it did.

Probably Maximum Overdrive. He wrote it as a screenplay. Like someone else mentioned, most of his books didn't transfer well to the screen. And some of his other screenplays and movies really heaved, like the one with the cats. That was just awful.

I would have to say Rose Red, The Shining, 'Salem's Lot and It are my favorites. 'Salem's Lot was one of the scariest books I have ever read. The Dark Half was also pretty good. I hope this doesn't post twice. I have been having problems with the site today so forgive me in advance, just in case. LOL Lillith

I really prefer his books to his movies because there is just no way to get some of his thoughts on film. My favorite books were IT and The Stand. IT was really a pretty good movie as well, but not as good as the book.

Stephen kings stories and movies scare me! i am such a chicken...i have seen one of his movies and that was langaliers(sp) my grandparents were extras in the movie, if they werent in it..i woldnt have watched it. We live in the same city he does. I drive by his house all the time...it looks like a haunted mansion.
