I'm in Canada myself :) Up in my bedroom on my desktop computer.
I ask this because one thing that just amazes me is just how many people from around the world can write to each other on sites like this, as if they were just next door. Because the messages arrive so fast after they are sent, that it's really amazing.
I used to have a penpal from Australia, but the letters took some time to get back and forth. But now that I have the internet, sometimes it's hard to believe that everyone is such a great distance away!

Im here in my home in Austria. Im here in my living room alone and typing messages. At my back is my Christmas tree loaded with candies. My pets are in my sofa sleeping. By the way my pets are two cats. I love writing a lot especially in the everning. Its 1:30 morning here in Vienna. Its cold and calm and my neighbors are all sleeping as well as my two cats.

lol... I really do think this is addictive. It's been so many hours today, and it's still so hard to pull myself away from it all. But tomorrow's a new day, so I hope I can be a little more controlled on this site, so I can get some work done too lol...

Such cute cats! I used to have two myself, but now I have a dog who just sleeps all day lol.
Since my christmas tree is downstairs and I can't see it from my computer, I actually took a picture of it, and put it on my desktop background. It's nice to have a piece of christmas up here with me too.

At work, in Western Australia....it's 9:30am here so it's not even half way through my day! Friday's are very boring at work so I just jump on mylot for a while...

We work on upgrading mine sites so the work comes and goes - at the moment we are in one of the quiet times (will pick up in the new year) so most days are fairly quiet...Friday's are just the worst though! Everyone's winding down ready for the weekend!

lol... I can understand that. I used to work for a web developing company, and between jobs there was little to do, so I found myself on the web trying to fill some time. There we were able to call that "research" cause we kept notes of things we liked/disliked about the sites, or marked down anyone we thought could become a potential client :P

Yes, Friday's can seem to drag on forever and ever especially if we have something nice planned for the weekends. At least after the new year thing will pick up again and you'll have more things at work to keep you occupied.

That's definately a good idea, that I think I'm probably going to follow myself if i can ever get caught up on all my responses lol...
If I'm bored of what I'm doing and need a break, or find I'm about to tear out my hair because I can't get rid of some of my programming errors, then a nice break over here should do the trick and help clear my mind to get back down to work.

wow! 15 minutes? That's not fun... My internet keep dropping my connection, so I have to keep signing back online all the time, but at least my wait isn't 15 minutes like yours. I hope you get a faster internet really soon!

hey thats a cool question..well m from Nepal n trying to earn abit of money..wel the question is really a good one..some of my frens stay far away from Nepal n before it was really tough for me to be in contact wid them but now coz of the internet facility m able to9 exchange my mails regulary..thankx to the internet..

Wow! Another person from India! I really like having a computer in my room, then my whole family doesn't have to keep walking past me, like they used to have to do on the main family computer, cause it's sitting in the hallway.

Hi there, I am in the united states. It is about 11pm and i am sitting here on the sofa watching Jay Leno.. Mel Gibson is on... I also am amazed at the speed and capability of the internet and enjoy most of the discussions on mylot. It seems no matter what time i log on to mylot there are always so many members online..and the discussions continue to grow at a rapid speed. Usually i log on while we are traveling but did not have time earlier.

This is my first day here, but I too am amazed at the amount of people on here, and the speed at which the discussions grow at. In fact, this discussion here just suddenly took off, and there's tons of people in here now! That's pretty cool :)

I know! The internet is a wonderful thing. I met lots of people in school... and then when we were finished, they all moved back to the cities that they came from, and they are far away, but we can still all talk online, which is great!
