Hi! I'm am doing some research for a business I may be starting in the new year. I am wondering how many of you would be interested in buying or currently buy ebooks. What genres do you read or buy? Romance? Young Adult? Childrens? Would you be interested in buying short stories/novellas online? Thanks a bunch for your input. :-)

I read quite a lot of ebooks and have quite a few saved on my hard drive. If you'd like to download a couple of ebooks, I have a download link on my website (see my profile for website), just scroll to the bottom of the page to see link. Most of the stuff there are internet marketing related stuff. Like how to make money online as an affiliate and things like that. Check it out.

Hi! Thanks a bunch! I downloaded a few books. While trying to download one of them, I got an error message that the file had been changed or corrupted. I thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't been told about it. Thanks again! :-)

I've never truly gotten into ebooks. I spend enough time at the computer and don't want to have to look at a screen to read. I also prefer when I'm buying the books to be able to browse the pages, even sit and read some of it, look at the cover to see if it's appealing, etc. to get a feel for the book. Not that this can't be done with ebooks but there is something personal missing about it. The only eboooks I've ever downloaded are the free classics, usually for a school project. Perhaps an audio ebook for my ipod would be something I'd do. But an ebook to read on a screen doesn't appeal to me.

Hi! Thanks again for your input! A lot of people seem to like to have the physical book in their hands. You bring up an interesting twist, though, audio books. It seems that no one, well, not many, anyway, offer audio versions of their books. Correct me if I'm wrong LOL Cool idea! Thanks! :-)

Sometimes I write Ebooks too. I would much rather write than read them. I did buy some ebooks off Ebay about article writing and self publishing. You might check Ebay to see what people are buying. Good luck with your venture.

Hi! Everything helps at this point! I think there are a lot of talented writers out there who never get the chance to get published and have others see their work. If I get the company going, you'll have to submit some work! :-)

I do buy ebooks...but mostly techy stuff on software or graphic programs (I'm a graphic designer). I wouldn't spend on e-novels ...I'd rather read a bound novel with a mug of tea in hand lazing in the garden, than on a computer screen.

Hi! Oh, I miss the warm weather, sitting out on the swing with an iced coffee and a book! :-) Thanks for responding. It seems that most people would prefer to buy a print version.

I have downloaded several e-books recently about online business strategies and search engine optimization. They were actually quite good; fairly short, easy to read and understand, and reasonably priced. For me, it doesn't seem worth it to spend more money on paper books dealing with subjects that change so quickly. I have purchased tons of paperbacks online at Ebay; you can get some great deals, especially on lots of several books by the same author. I buy fiction, mystery & crime, and a lot of children's books.

I have bought ebooks off of ebay with resale right. The problem with selling ebooks. If you sell to 1 person and they give it to there friend. When they download it. They save it to there hard drive. There is no way to make sure someone is not selling it on you. Plus they get outdated too fast.

Hi! Thanks for your comment! You are right, that is a problem. There is encryption software now that prevents the work from being reproduced after the intial download. Whether I could afford it or not remains to be seen. Best to you!

I love romance and I think if it was a short story/novella I might read it online. I'm the same as the rest, not sure if I could sit that long and read it online, UNLESS...this just came to me...I download it onto my laptap and get nice and comfy in bed with some hot cocoa and a great Ebook! LOL Seriously though I just might do that!
