You are wrong about having a cow for a pet. A pet is an animal that you love just because it is. My grandfather had 2 horses. They were his pets. He spent a lot of time with them. He enjoyed cleaning up after them as mush as he enjoyed riding them. He did not work them. He had them becauses he enjoyed them. Not all people keep their pet dog or cat in the house. I saw a program on HGTV a while back about a man that kept a minature hores in his house. also a couple had a buffaloo as a pet that they allowed in the house.

In Mysore, the horse drawn vehicles which carry people from place to place (sophisticated ones are called Stage Coach) and the ordinary ones are called 'tonga'. The children of horse owners of these tonga have the ponies as their pets. Because their earnings depend on horses.

Yes, I think they do, but they are a very big responsiblity, and very exspensive. They require lots of attention as well, my aunt owns a horse farm and we spends lots of time helping her. They are beautiful animals and very smart.

Horses can be a pet animals but only if they are very small, but then you call them pony. But, once they become they grow in size and you can not keep them anyways in your house. Thus, horses can be categorised under the shelter animals but not the pet animals which stay in the house.

I'm sure that people that have horses think of them as pets (of more like family). Horses are very loving and loyal so they are a pet just as a dog or cat. But like other said--they are very expensive to keep. They eat a lot and need daily care (more so then a dog or cat). My husband would love to have some horses some day but I'm not sure. That would just be more work for me because he would be at work and I would have to take care of them. And I'm afraid of horses. I'm sure I would get over the fear real quick with them around. That is way in the future since we can't even afford a cat now.

I think so. It just that they are so expensive to keep up with the foods, vet, dental, etc etc. My next door used to have 2 horses for their grandkids, my hubby's aunt have one horse and one pony, his another aunt got about 8 of them as their pet. I wanted to have horses for pet but they are expensive, got enough land for few of them but hate to see the monthly feeds, vet bills. 2 puppies are good enough for me right now.

I would think so. I believe that most animals can be pets. (Just depends really.)

I do think that horses qualify as pets. Not everyone can have them but if you have the land and you can raise them properly then ofcourse they can be your pet.

yes, horses should be classiffied as pets.Pets are animals which we keep at home ( my definition). The only problem with horses is that they are little expensive. However if we have the money they could be bought and kept as pets.

No I don't think so. If horses are pets then why not cows? A pet is something you got indoors not out in the stables :-)

Yes, I would consider them pets. Very expensive pets that is. I wish I could afford one.
