Friends, christmas is not a very popular festival here, in India. Only christians and few others celebrate it with the trees/parties/gifts etc.. Others just wish each other --- if you are lucky you'll get a few cards..maybe an odd present. That's all. I really love christmas and the way i see in tv/movies.. it is a mighty BIG festival is most of the countries. I envy those who have to worry about buying presents/christmas shopping/tree hunting.. it must be so much fun.
So, tell me which country are you from? how do you celebrate christmas? have you started shopping yet? Fill me up on the goss!!!

You obviously have a negative attitude and are forgetting the spirit of Xmas. It is about giving and being around those you love and spreading love to others. It doesn't matter what others try to make..it's about what it means to you and that's all that matters.

USA Chicago,Illinois Christmas is the best holiday EVER! Everytime i think about it i get butterflies in my stomach. Its just such a great time of the year. I do get excited about getting presents, but even more about shopping for presents. And the best moment is seeing the expressions on my family members faces when they open the presents i gave them.

I am from Philippines and Christmas season is already here:) As of now I wasn't worrying about buying presents because I don't have much money to spend, lol! We celebrate christmas with our family, it's like a reunion one. giving gift would be a bonus but still keeping family intact is the BEST! Gifts are probably on childrens mostly so I really don't expect a gift because I am 23y/o but still be thankful if being remembered:) A simple greeting would do for me. Merry Christmas and advance Happy New Year, Jo!:)

I think this fever comes from the commercial part of the Christmas. If a real fever has to be existent surely that has to be the fever to Please jesus Christ and to offer Him a better place as it was offred in the past?I am trying to not be part of the commercial fever but is very hard to not be coz everybody is waiting for a gift!

Definitely. I love Christmas! My family has always made a big deal out of it. I shop for gifts all year round so I can find unique gifts and avoid the stress of waiting till the last minute like some people do. I don't like crowds. Sometimes I travel and always shop then for Christmas and birthday presents. I love wrapping the presents and decorating the tree. It's a lot of work, but I love it. I love looking at the tree after it's all decorated and the packages all wrapped up under the tree. Our 2 cats love it too, they like to lay underneath the tree. When I lived in Illinois I had some white christmases. I love snow. I live in California now, so we very rarely see any snow, though one year it snowed here in December and I was soooooo excited!!! I like giving almost more then the receiving of gifts. Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday. I have ornaments for the tree that I have collected for over 20 years. I have quite a variety, cats, snowmen and lots of others. I even decorate the kitchen and the bathroom. I have a whole collection of snowmen in the living room too. I love Christmas morning. We have stockings too that we fill with the small gifts. I also love Christmas cards and Christmas E-cards or E-greetings from hallmark.com, clubgreetings.com, actioncats.com and 123greetings.com. They all have animated cards that move and make noise, they are really fun. I definitely have the fever!

I live in the U.S, Texas. I start Christmas shopping in October, but it never fails, I am usually out a day or two before Christmas, buying that last minute gift. We are really big into decorating, lights and decorations outside, and we have a 7ft tree in the living room. On Christmas Eve, we go to a candlelight service at church and on Christmas morning, we adults sit back and let the kids hand out the gifts and just enjoy being with family and the kids having fun opening their presents.

I love Christmas. I'm from Texas,U.S. and our family has a great time decorating. My husband and I invited all the cousins in our family to help decorate the tree. It was alot of fun to watch the kids decorate the tree. And it's been a tradition since I was a child to have cookies and hot chocolate with marshmallows and a candy cane after we're done decorating. I always have to have my Xmas music too. It's my husbands family tradition to decorate the day after Thanksgiving. Combining family traditions has been fun too. My daughter decided to decorate one of our fake plants we have in the living room. She put all our stockings on there. It looks so cute. Another tradition is to drive around the neighborhood and look at the decorated houses. There is one subdivision where every house is decorated. It's wonderful. In San Antonio where I'm from our city has a river parade and that's alot of fun. On Christmas Eve someone in our family always has a party and we go to my husbands moms house on Christmas Day. We have Tamales for Christmas Dinner. That is the food of choice here in San Antonio on the Xmas holiday. Another tradition of ours is we all sing christmas carols with the kids at the Christmas Eve party at midnight and then everyone exchanges gifts and we all get to open one present before we go home, go to sleep and wait till Christmas morning to open the rest of our presents and see if Santa came to visit. One of the best things to do is shop for presents for everyone. Giving is always the most fun. We always like to volunteer and help wrap presents for the Elf Louis Organization and there are some other things we're doing this year. I think this time of year everyone should be able to enjoy Christmas and so we volunteer to help those who may not have the money or jut don't have anyone to celebrate with. Things have been very rough for us this year but Christmas reminds us how much goodness and love still exists in this world and it always lifts our spirits.

Well I am in the USA. 99% of my shopping is done. I had to start early this year since we will have a new baby any day now. Things are a bit different than usual, since I am in pain & lacking in energy. My family is actually ont he way here for an early Christmas. My girls did still help me decorate the tree. We usually makes breads, cookies & fudge. I don't see much of that being done this time. We usually go to my in-laws on the 24th & eat dinner & open presents. We then come home & open our gifts here. I will go to midnight mass by myself depending on how I am feeling. On the 25th my family usually comes & we exchange gifts. The girls get to open their stockings once they get up.

I am from the US and we do Christmas. Actually, some overdo Christmas. Some will start their Christmas decorating in late October. I, like starting after Thanksgivig (late November). I actually put up two trees. One 6 ft one in my sunroom. It is white decorated in gold, silver and blue. Then I put a small 4 foot tree in the living room. It is green. It is decorated in red white and blue. Yes, we buy and wrap presents. On Christmas Eve, my whole family gathers at my mother's to exchange presents and visit. On Christmas morning, my husband and I have our own private celebration. Christmas day is then spent with a variety of loved ones.

I’m from the UK and I’ve been out with my boyfriend today Christmas shopping and deciding who we should buy for and what we should get each other. It’s a really busy time of year but I’m loving it! This is the first year I’ve felt really involved with Christmas so I’ve been decorating and buying gifts, I’m not sure If I’ll sent cards yet though. :] Christmas in my family is pretty traditional. Open presents, play with presents, eat and see the ones you love. I’m not Christian but I do love the holiday, it brightens up the winter.
