Well I got suspended from ebay for winning 3 items and not paying for them. The item I was bidding for was a tickle me elmo. I believe I won all 3 of them, each one for about 90.00 or more. The weekend after I won..I went to target and got 1 for 39.99...so I figured why pay almost 100.00 for something that is only 39.99. I didnt pay and my account is suspended. I asked one of the sellers to remove the strike from my account and she said.....sorry loser...next time pay for the item stupid. I really couldnt believe it....How I wish I could reach through my computer screen....LOL....
I want to know if you have had any positive or negative experiences on ebay

Thats correct:) Or you would have requested by email if you could return the items. because in Ebay they are very strict about bidding and paying. Its like a contract you cannot brake it just because you found a better price later on. We have been doing business in ebau for over 6 years and its been GREAT, we buy and sell a lot! But I do know that if I bid on something I have to pay it, if I dont like it, then I resell it later on. :) Good Luck!

But that's not the sellers fault. You shouldn't have bid that high especially on multiple auctions if you weren't prepared to pay that price. You could have also just purchased it and then turned around and sold it back on ebay to make your money back.

You shouldn't have bid if you had no intention of paying. As a Seller we incur fees for listing these items and if we remove your strike we don't get our listing fees paid, so essentially you are wanting her to pay for something that did not sell just because you found it cheaper at Target, is that fair, I don't think so!

I wish there was another popular website that offered auctions like ebay and that was well known... My mom is addicted to that site. I don't like to go on there... My mom is having a problem with ebay and they won't even help her solve it or back her up and she's been a member forever. Of course, she doesn't blame ebay, she blames paypal.. LOL Doesn't make sense. She paid for a few items with one person and this person hasn't sent her items...

I purchase and sell on ebay and have only had one problem with a seller not sending me the product. Ebay will not refund money unless it is over a certain amount per item. There are a few other auction sites and things like that I will list them here:

I got suspended from Ebay nce for the same reason,non-payment,but actually I sent payment twice and after the that I thought someone was taking it! I emailed the seller telling them look,I have sent payment twice with the same reply, nothing received so I thought forget it.I messaged Ebay explaining the problem and recieved their reply-suspension! Slightly unfair?

How did you send the payment? You should try using either Pay Pal, or a check. that way you have proof that you sent the payment. If you use Pay Pal, and they say they never got it but pay Pal says that they did, then you can do a charge back and get your money back. If you pay by check then you have proof that it was cashed. If it never made it there you can always stop the check and resend another one.

I usually always use Paypal but this particular buyer would only accept cheque-figures-so now I only bid on items accepting paypal.

in your case it was unfair..a better resolution should have been made. have you tried chasing it up again with ebay and ask why you got suspended (show ebay proof of the cheques too maybe) though it is difficult to know if someone actually posted it (which would be their viewpoint)

The good thing about is ebay is that I have never visited that site. And thanks to you, now I am not encouraged to do so at all.

Umm, you need to be careful on ebay (and at other online and offline auctions). Don't bid unless you plan to pay.
It is very frustrating to sell something only to find out that the buyer refuses to pay. You were in violation of ebay policy (and bidding on ebay is considered legally bind in most states so you were also in violation of the law by not following through with you end of the transaction), so eBay was in the right in terminating your account. They have to protect others who follow the rules.
As for you wishing you could reach through the screen... Just imagine if you were in the sellers shoes. Wouldn't you find it frustrating?

I have been on ebay for a bout 2 years and i have bought LOADS i have never had a problem but then, everything i win i buy (it's in the rules) if i think i can get something cheaper (check it out on the net) than on ebay then i will not bid on it (especially not 3 of them!!) What the seller said to you was not right, i have had problems with a few sellers and they were nothing but nice(helpful getting it sorted out) e.g. i had bid on something that was stated as not being able to be posted to where i live (before checking) i contacted the seller and explained this and the seller cancelled my bid AFTER i had won the auction so, i've really had no problems, i really like ebay.

Once I had a bad experience on Ebay so I left a negative for the seller. So he retaliated by leaving a negative for me. Since I don't buy or sell much on Ebay his ding left a dent in my score. Then he left Ebay. So what good is it to leave negative feedback?
I also have friend who bid of more than one of the same item and won all of them, and honored their committment and paid for all of them. Lesson is, never bid on more than one of the same item unless you need all of them.

I've been both a buyer and a seller on Ebay and I've had nothing but positive experiences. I agree with some of the others "why bid so much if you weren't going to pay it?" As a buyer I never, ever bid more than I can pay. Even if I do multiple bids on the same items I always make sure that I never go over a total that I'd be willing to pay if I did win all of them (and I have done this many times). As a seller I can only say this to you...for many of us the extra money is a real job (when I did it I cleared over $250 week...so it was my "job"). I hate to say it but I'd have given you a negative too, I mean what's to say they let you slide and you don't do it to someone else another time. By no means am I saying you would or that you're a bad person, but you have to put yourself in the sellers shoes. If you went to work everyday and your boss decided, "oh well, I don't feel like paying you for your work today", would that be okay? I don't think so. Honestly your best bet is to pay what you rightfully owe and have your account activated and a response added that you did finally pay. I'm speaking to you from both sides of the spectrum.

I also have been both buyer and seller. On buying I make sure I don't bid something I can't pay that is just common sense. I have been a seller and been stiffed for payment. I reported them. Now if I sell I won't accept a bid for a buyer with a rating under a certain level and with over a certain amount of negatives. I try to be fair but some people are just not sincere in thier bids and will stiff you. I sell on etsy more now than on ebay as it is cheaper to list and it fits my items better.

I have nothing but positive feedback on Ebay, so I can't really say that I've had a bad experience with Ebay. But that is true to terms, don't bid unless you plan on paying for it if you win. I know it may suck if you find an item for cheaper, but you'll just have to suffer the consequences.

Sorry, hon, but they are right. It would have been the right thing to do. You should have paid for the items you won. That is the way ebay works, it states it in the regulations and rules. If the seller had screwed up and not sent the item, they would have been banned. You can't have it both ways. You could have paid for the Elmo's and resold them on Ebay or another autions site, but you choose simply not to pay and to put out the seller.

I know you are posting for support and don't want to hear this, but you are 100% wrong with what you did! If you read the terms of ebay, and it's on there everytime you bid! It says that your bid is a contract and you agree to pay if you win the auction.
It doesn't say "I agree to pay as long as I don't find this cheaper somewhere else".
The problem is too many people think they can violate the rules of a site without any consequences. Hopefully you will learn from this and if you join any other auction sites in the future you won't bid unless you intend to pay no matter what.

Actually if you are just a buyer then Ebay doesn't get your money. The seller does. Ebay makes it money from the sellers when they lsit items, not the buyer. So your beef is with the seller not ebay.

Ebay should have insurance in place for people so when they get a crappy product you can return it to the seller and be refunded. The have an appeal board in place when you use Paypal but you have to state your case and all that jazz, then wait for ever to get your money back if you do even then.

That's exactly how the sellers feel about you I'm sure. The only negative experiences I've had on E-bay was dealing with buyers like you. I'm glad you got suspended because you didn't follow the rules and you wasted probably a week's worth of time for the buyers. What exactly did you think would happen? That buyer had every right to mark your account the way she did.

Sorry but thats how it sis. You cant go winning an item and then bot paying. I would be pissed if I was the seller. Ive been buying and selling on ebay for about 5-6 years and you just cant do stuff like that. Its bad business. REtracting a bid is one thing but not payin for an item that you've won is unacceptable, let alone 3 items. The suspension was well deserved.

I fail to understand how you can complain about this since you admit that you bidded for items and then refused to pay for them. Obviously Ebay do not want you to carry on bidding for things, because they have no guarantee that you will ever buy anything after bidding.
I can understand your point of view if items are much cheaper elsewhere, but if an item is available for under $40, then why did you bid $90 in the first place?

you may not notice, but often (not always though) a seller will put an item on for well below cost price, and just incase it goes for a cheaper price, they recoup a little by charging more for postage (and handling) it is also something that we agree to when bidding.
and as for items going for more than they are worth, that is often the result of people having a bidding war over it and the price bumping up more than its worth..
dont always blame the sellers...

I worked for a Car Dealership at one time, and put a ton of vehicles on Ebay. Amazing how large of purchases people are willing to make through an online website. But trust me, it was frusturating when a winning bidder one and didn't pay. Though I also understand the price difference between a "Tickle Me Elmo" and a Brand New Vehicle.

Before I always do caomparison buying. That way if I find the item cheaper some wher else then I come out paying a better price. As far as being suspended goes all I can say is you should have contacted the seller to withdraw your bid. I've done it many times.

LOL!
I wish I could reach through my computer screen at times myself.
I use eBay a lot and I made bids before that I ended up not paying for. But I wrote the seller and told them how sorry I was and that it was a mistake and to please just relist the item and they did and never wrote me up for it.
I only messed up about three times. Never suspended or even warned though.
You must of really pisses someone off.. LOL!
