TV is racially bias but not in the way you all are thinking. Count how many sitcoms are about minorities and how many are about the majority. From what I have seen there are more shows about above middle class minorities then there is about any other race. There are at least 10 hispanic tv stations on dish network and about 4 African american channels and you want to know if TV is racially biased? MTV which started out as a rock and roll music station is now more about rap then any other kind of music. If anything TV in reverse racially biased.

I'm not sure what channels your watching about sitcoms but I can name you a few that support the majority. And I'm talking about regular tv, such as smallville, 7 heaven, gilmore girls, house, one tree hill and on and on. But thats more of a subjective view im pointing out but you get the point
But you are right some stations such as BET, UNIVISION and so on only promote certain ethnic views so in this case I can see television being bias. Good point.
By the way the question is an open end question meaning I'm not targeting white vs minorities but just as a whole picture of what people view on tv.

I understand what your saying about the shows you mentioned but those shows are not sitcoms they are drama's. and actually they are not shown much on the three main channels (CBS,NBC,ABC). But anyway for the most part TV stations are trying to become too polictically correct. They need to stop worrying about being polictically correct and just put some good decent shows that teach parents and people to have respect for everyone. By having certain shows primarily one particular race they are promoting racism in stead of promoting equality and plain simple entertainment.

I feel tv isn't well-round enough racially. I don't believe shows ridicule or degrade different races but actually neglect to show them at all in some cases. There are either shows that only have people of color in them (very few shows I might add) or have just one person of color in them. It's one extreme or the other. It's scary to see shows that don't have one single person of color. How is that possible?

Why do you say that? Give me some examples of what you perceive to be the racial bias of television, and I'll decide if I agree with you on that.

When you’re living within a country like the United Kingdom which is split up between four culturally different countries there can’t help but be some form of racially biased in television. I don’t mean racial slurs, I mean the targeted audience. The mainland of the United Kingdom; England, Scotland, Wales have often give preference towards England as it’s the main/biggest country within the Kingdoms, this was particularly seen during the World Cup as no channel ever stopped talking about England’s chances. However I don't think I have once encoutered the sort of racial bias you're originally intending.
