Does it bother you when a question or answer has any
spelling errors in it?
Why isn't there a way to check spelling in this site?
I don't understand all the people who either can't or wont spell words correctly or even try to...

sometimes i really bothers me alot when i wrote something that has errors on it, especially in grammars ard spellings, but as time goes by, it doesn't bother me anymore, for me, a paragraph even though it has errors on it, as long as it can be understand it will be okay. For now i keep on practicing in good english grammar and spelling, i admit i'm not fluent in english, but i believe practice makes perfect..have a nice aspen, and take care always..

most of it dont bother me. If i know what they are saying then i dont mind, like when they put u instead of you. But some of it is kind of hard to understand. I make alot of spelling errors because i dont go back and check over it. But keep in mind that we're dealing with people from all over the world here. English is not alot of there first languages. That might account for alot of it

Why do we have to cut slack to those from other countries???
They would not let it slide if we couldn't speak or write their language...
If I were typing on an American web site, I would certainly learn English to type out my thoughts so others can read it...
I am sure no one would accept me going to Mexico and typing on a Spanish site and not be able to spell Spanish words or going to an Indian site and not being able to type in Indian...
Etc, etc etc...

it doesn't bother me at all. as long as i understand his/her point i cannot see any problem to that. In our country, text messages is very rampant here
where people communicate through mobile phone with many shortcut words. Maybe one reason why people post here with mispelled is because they are rushing in typing. There is no way you can do to correct spelling here..

Well I have said it several times, but what is the rush???
Why do people feel rushed here???
There is no deadline to speak or type...
Why feel rushed so much that you can't review your own words???

If I'm doing long responses or am unsure on a spelling I will copy the post into Outlook Express and have it check for me. The problem is though, spell check doesn't check for words like hair and hare or their and they're. Nor does it check for capitals and periods. I've seen long posts without any punctuation. That is really hard to read.

I agree with you about long posts with no punctuation. They are the hardest ones to make sense out of and read...period.

I agree with both of you...
It is hard to understand people who don't punctuate, and have long run on sentences, and can't spell, or use chat speak, because those of us who prefer to spell English like we were taught in school, think others are just stupid or illiterate...

I appreciate your answer, but my trouble is, as you can clearly see by some other responses I got, that some people type blindly or they are simply ignorant or don't care...
Like bad drivers who don't care and endanger our lives, bad spellers use up our time to make points on websites like this for no good reason..
It's all worthless...
Ignorant:
Lacking education or knowledge.
Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge:
an ignorant mistake.
Unaware or uninformed.

I've noticed that too. Some people just aren't good spellers. Or they are in a rush! Spelling has always been one of my favorite subjects. I know I'm bad at math, good thing that isn't what this site is about!

Then when you preview your comments, you have time then to check spelling...
There is no need to be in a rush like everyone says they seem to be in...
Why the rush???
It gets you nowhere...
I am glad it is not about math also...WHEW!!!
I wouldn't make it here then...

I too think that it does not matter that much even though i try to be as specific as possible, because it more of the understanding that is required coz there are no scholars out here.if the person is able to convey his message by any means, he has done is deed. But yes, if because of that he distort the meaning or is not able to convey his thoughts it should be bothering.Hope you got my point.Take care !

Unfortunately, I got your meaning after reading your copy several times to try to understand what you were trying to say...
It's just that if you are going to type anyway, why not do it right, so you will look and sound smart???
Why abreviate or chat spell to a whole world that does not know the shortcuts like you do???
We don't all chat or know that chat spelling and for those of us that do know English, it is miserable to read those comments from people that haven't a clue about good spelling...
Remember, there is a vast audience here and a vast age difference, and you should be talking and spelling to those who will read your message and wonder if you know what you are talking about or not...

There is a big difference between an honest mistake and a deliberate one...
I should have known better than to ask this question...
You can see the kind of responses I am getting...
So uncalled for...
A true waste of time...

I don't know why you even bothered to answer my question except to prove to everyone else it takes longer and more effort to type like you do than to do it right in the first place...
What a waste of effort you have...
ssa eloh.....
Figure it out if you can...
