Don't forget that most Americans are poorly educated about the world around them, so quite often they don't know much, but always have to state their opinion, even if they know nothing about the subject - after all, they're Americans, and they think their opinions are the only ones that matter.

you met an american guy with a low IQ...
Next time, ask a well traveled American that same question...
1. Germans are highly detailed, methodical people known for craftmanship in everything they do. Hence the the Daimler/ Chrysler commercials which heralds the union of "German Engineering with American Ingenuity".
2. Germans on the whole are too critical of the U.S.
3. Germans are really trying hard at conservation, All over the country there are winmill farms, water conservation efforts, and strict anti pollution policies - bravo to you.
4. Germany may have an alarming trend towards nazism ( I read it's at 10 % ) But there are many more people that are enjoying liberal freedoms, you can see it late night on German TV..lot's of provaucative programming going on.

I have a lot of German friends who live in the USA. Maybe they are not originally from Germany, but they are German, and I married a German, so they cannot be that bad can they? People are people no matter where they are from, and we should all treat them as equals until they give us another reason to think differently.

Well, no one told me that! I took German language in high school because one of my best friends was german. But then, someone asked me why Japanese people hate Chinese people, to which I asked... "I do?" I don't care what ethnicity people are because I base my opinions on how others treat me and those around them. Aloha!

No idea about America. Although in England there’s a lot of deep resent that’s gradually fading, although we won’t stop making humorous remarks/action as it’s our nature! Although I think the World Cup went a long to dispelling any hard feelings of the English, the treatment our fans received from local people to police was fantastic.

I never thought that about Germans at all. I went to school with several exchange students and they were far more peace loving than I was. I didn't find them to be prejudice at all towards anyone.
Again, that is putting people in a box due to religion or country and I really disagree with it. People are individuals.
