Does myLot moderate the creation of new threads?

Hello all!
I'm asking about this as I just tried to create a new thread under the interest of "migraines." The post has not appeared under that topic, nor did I receive a point for posting it.
I'd like to know if myLot staffers approve new threads before they go live. I don't want to risk trying to post the topic again right away, just in case. I don't want them to think I'm trying to create two identical threads.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

If mylot monitored the threads then we wouldent have so many asking for personal preference like mcdonalds or burgerking, coke or pepsi. Also we wouldent have those just asking for age, or name. The only time those get noticed is when someone reports them. Also you earn points by reaponding to discussions only not starting them.
Hope you are having fun.

You brat my monitor almost wore my tea. LOL I was drinking my tea when you stated "thanks for creating a new addiction." You are not alone I got Star started too. I am a Baaaaaaaad girl. And yet you guys still love me. :)

Hahaha! That's a good point! I have seen so many Coke or Pepsi threads here, it's annoying. ;) And I am enjoying myself here, probably way too much! Thanks for helping create a new addiction. ;)

Well yes they do moderate it
Imagine, my rating was reduced with a difference of 15 as compared to what it was yesterday
Well tell me what was the topic and what did you really ask in the discussion
if something is against mylot's guidelines then it is a Big NO i must say

Good point! If something gets deleted, or is not allowed to be posted, but doesn't contain anything they mention in the FAQ, I'd really like to be alerted as to what I've done wrong. I can understand that this would be very labour intensive for the myLot staffers, but maybe there is some sort of comprimise.
Thanks for your thoughts!

I went and checked on your profile and a discussion about the use of Valerian for Migraines is there. You usually don't get a point for starting a new thread, only for responding to someone elses. I don't know why it isn't showing up under the category though. But it is on the board. Hope I helped.

Yes thanks, you did! I did actually go back and post it again, so hopefully it will appear under the actual interest soon. (and feel free to comment on the Valerian thread too! :)
Thanks for your feedback!

Yeah, same thing happened to me. When I started my first discussion I realised that we don't get any points for starting a new discussion but only for responding to other people's questions. So I mostly concentrate on replying and only start a new thread if I really have something new to ask of importance.

yes, they do moderate your threads. you need to be careful in every posting

Absolutely. I'll definitely do that! I guess I was just confused as I knew I didn't post anything controversial or cut-and-pasted from another thread. But after I tried posting it again, everything seemed to work.
Thanks for your response!

I've started a topic before and it didn't show up right away. But in response to someone's comment about Mylot not showing it 'till someone's responded, I've started a discussion and it's showed right away.
I think it all has to do with mature content. It may require Mylot to preview the topic?

Hmm, interesting point. My topic didn't have any mature content in it, but that's a good thing to be aware of for future postings.
Thanks for the input!

No, this is a pretty anarchic site. Everything gets online regardless of content or quality. There are hundreds of unanswered threads here and thousands of high-ranking threads that are nothing but group masterbations.
If your thread gets no responses be patient it's still there just burried in the rubble.

"Burried in the rubble" - that sounds about right!
Thanks for your input. I think it was actually a posting error on my part, but it's good to know from your feedback and the feedback of others that it wasn't me getting blocked for some unknown reason.
Thanks again!

A very weird thing happened.. my count was 849 when i was responding to a discussion, when i added a tag and hit the submit button the count went to 848. this has happened to me twice. I had not written anything offensive nor was it a one liner reply. So how mylot is moderating the discussions or how its earning algorithm works is really confusig

That happened to me today, too, my count going backwards after I'd left a comments. You're right, the whole earnin algorithm seems like one big mystery. On the one hand, it would be great for us to have a more transparent process so we could understand what was going on. But on the other, I can see how their algorithm is probably considered a proprietary secret. :)
Thanks for your feedback!

I would say no, but I posted on a discussion about recipes one time and my posts (and the others) disappeared.
So they might.

It would be good to know if that was the case or not. I'm guessing there wasn't any profanity in your recipes? ;)

I started 5 days ago and after my 20th post I didnt get and points for the post I did there after. I did get points if someone answered my post. Maybe its working the same way with you.

Hey, that's a good point! I didn't notice that at first, but I think that might have been the case for me as well. I seemed to get a point for everything when I was below twenty, and now I don't. Hmm. Something to think about.
Thanks for posting about your experience!

Hehehe, checking the FAQ is always a good idea. But I can assure you, there was nothing offensive in the post. It's up now, and as far as I can figure, I must have done something wrong along the posting process.
Thanks for you comments!
