Have you seen this movie starring Hugh Jackman? What did you think? Did you like it? I saw it and *hated* it. I found it terribly confusing and a complete waste of time. I was telling my sister about it and she had heard it was quite good. What did you think?

A complete disappointment. I couldn't wait to see this movie. I found it confusing but Hugh Jackman delivered a great performance, as always, despite a poor storyline.

I saw it about a month ago and I liked it. Granted, "The Fountain" is not everyone's cup of tea. It is highly confusing with scenes going back and forth in time. Aronofsky is immensely talented and although I think "Requiem For a Dream" is still his finest outing to date, "The Fountain" is a film that I appreciate more and more with multiple viewings. Clint Mansell also provides a dynamite score here almost as good as his work with Aronofsky in "Requiem For A Dream".

I thought it was amazing, myself. I think that to enjoy this film, you have to let go of the idea of it making any sense. It doesn't, not in a linear sense, and it shouldn't have to. It's a journey within, the journey of the soul, taking place on many planes of existence at the quantum level. To me, it's a movie about the one universal truth; to live forever, we have to die. To claim, we have to let go. Life is a nonsensical, irrational miracle, and we can only embrace that when we stop trying to understand and just let it sweep us up and take us away.
