okay, I am not one to complain when it comes to mylot but yesterday and literally about 5 minutes ago, I was at 902 and now when I updated it put my rating at 882, that is NO WAY not fair...what the heck, it seems like once I get to my 900 mark, the ratings have been fluctuating so much. What is going on? This is bizarre, maybe they are just doing some cleanup or something, I guess I will just keep moving forward....YIKES anyone else experience this?

today, 13/12/2006 , my rating drop from 633 to 626 when I posted a reply to a response on my discussion and it drop further to 611 when I posted a response to a discussion by my friend. So, I have a total point drop of 22 in a day. I am thinking whether to post response as I do not want to see my point drop again when I post a reply or response to a discussion.

I'm not sure why people are worrying about ratings. They arn't that important. If your earnings were going down, then you'd have cause to complain....

Your ratings have nothing to do with your earnings. Everyone here thinks that they do. My rating when I post this will be 294 but I have $17.73 in my account. Your ratings only increase for discussions that you respond to or that you create, your earnings increase with this as well. However, when you comment on responses you have received on your discussion your rating does not increase but your earnings do. This is primarily what I do which is why my earnings are so much larger than my rating. Basically your rating means nothing so I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, there's one way to check. Go to the Discussions You have Responded To tab, and count them. There should be about 10 to a screen, so you can easily work out how many there are if you count the pages at the bottom and doing some multiplication.
If they tie up with your rating, then it means that the reason your rating is down is because MyLot have deleted some threads. If they don't tie up, then there is just a gremlim in the rating which they will fix.

Sorry, but if you lose points, your earnings will go down, won't they? Either that or they won't go up after you've spent hours in here.
Besides, I just posted a response to one guy who HAD lost dollars, and earlier, a guy who lost over 400 points, so I would say that's quite fishy, wouldn't you?

well thats really bad to hear but i think. They are cleaning up just to make sure this site looks good. Some people just make up their post count to increase by posting something like one liners which are not able to answer people's question too.
I dont what went wrong with your post. But dont worry keep contributing you will reach 1000 mark soon.
As i can see you already have crossed that 900 mark again.

How many times have I responded to this question today? It seems almost all of the members of this site are having points deducted for some reason or another. One guy lost over 400 points and ended up with 2 by his name. That's diabolical!
There's one guy who actually lost dollars, and a few who haven't received any e-mail alerts for three days.
Anyway... I've answered loads of questions, and am still on the same number of points I was on six hours ago, because every time I put 5 responses in, they take 4 out. So, I wrote to Mylot and asked for an explanation as to why they're doing this because my answers are always detailed and quite lengthy.. they pertain to the discussion in hand, and I can't fathom it. When I get a response from Mylot, I will start up a discussion on their reasons, so watch out for Darkwing's next discussion.. it could be interesting. :-)

hey thanks I will wait to see what you find out from Mylot, when I posted this message I had no idea that everyone was going through this. Losing 400 points is not a good thing, but the quest remains, of those points what was by error and what was not. I remember one time that I had really only about 550 points, and then as I was typing in all of a sudden it went to 970 and I thought WOW that is amazing, but then a few hours later they fixed it and it returned to my 550 points...so it could be a similar situation...or if threads were deleted the other question would remain, why

I wouldn't be too alarmed by this. I've read many posts about this today and it is happening to many people including me. This has happened before and I think it's just a glitch with mylot, the good news is that it hasn't been affecting earnings at all.

Yes, the same thing is happening to me. This is very annoying, and MyLot never responds when I e-mail them so I am not bothering this time. I think I might give up on this mylot thing, it's just gegtting on my nerves lately and not worth it.

I've noticed that happening as well. But I don't think your rating is interchangeable with your earnings. I hope not because my ratings went down the last couple of days. I haven't noticed my earnings going down though.

I have lost points too, however my earnings remain as they were before I lost the points.
Here is what I believe is happeneing:
I lost points that were equivalent to the amount of responses I had give to several people that started discussions using articles they had stolen and plagiarized from other sites, and had failed to properly credit the original site and author. I reported these individuals to myLot administration ("!"). Since it is illegal to plagiarize and engage in copyright infringement, myLot has made that an important writing rule on this site, so, they do not tolerate it. These individuals had their accounts deleted by myLot as a result.
So, when someone you may have responded to loses their account, your responses are no longer there, and so the points are reflecting that. But, like I said, the earnings remain.
I am pretty sure this is what is going on. If discussions are deleted for whatever reason, your responses are no longer there; and therefore, your points will begin to fluctuate as myLot starts cleaning up the site and removing those that do not follow the rules.

Haha buddy get used to it
It has been happening with me since days
i think mylot is cleaning the house or they are in a process of upgradation
So its better you respond to the meaningful post as then there are less chances to get disappointed
In the evening my posts were 5021 and then it changed to 4992!

I have not been able to make it to 2800. Everytime I start getting close, my Rating drops as well. Not sure what is going on here, but so far my Earnings have been affected so I guess we just wait and see if their is some explination unless they have been removing Topics which they felt did not fit the myLot rules is why our Ratings drop?

I didin't experience it. I still have a few discussions posted. But I'd read some of them experienced fluctuations. I don't know, should ask myLot,maybe..
