Whats the difference between friendship an love

I don't think there is much difference...to have love there must be friendship and to have friendship there must be some sort of love, they both compliment eachother.

If we look into thin in a practical manner, then friendship between a male and female my turn into love... whereas, friendship between male and male or female and female never turns into love unless they are gays or lesbians.
