why is it wrong to turn kids in to wiccans exactly? id be intrigued to know why it is seen as strange when superstitious mumbo jumbo like christianity or islam is considered ok?

Wow...dude..just a book..Its a fairy tale made up for the enjoyment of children..if they were really trying to turn ALL the children who adore Harry Potter into Wiccans, why arent they handing out spell books, and wands, and flying brooms... Its just entertainment..leave it at that

I too thought harry potter series are not good children books. At certain points they are downright horror books .They are just bad fiction. However, i do not think they will lead to the moral decline of the readers. The rights and wrongs of life are influenced by various environmental stimuli and a mere book cannot lead to decline of morality.

well speacking as a christian and a mother I dont see anything wrong with them my son loves them and he knows that the book is FICTION I dont worry cause i know my kids are stong in their faith and we also teach religious tolerance too, if i told him that harry potter books were eveil just cause they talked about witches and all then he would start to judge peoplke and that is one thing we as christians are not spossed to do thats not our job its gods ... that being said i know that some people can take this stuff a little too seriously but we can only pray for them i guess...

No, it's not that bad! The Harry Potter books are not 'of the devil'! And witchcraft is not bad! Who told you that?

ROFL!!!! That was hilarious! You got me at first too. I think it is really sad that there are people out there that won't let their children, or themselves, read these books because they think they are bad. Why is it that people don't understand what "fiction" means? Reading isn't just for learning it is also a place to develop your imagination, to get away from the world as you know it for a little while, to enjoy how someone can be so creative as to develop an entire fictitious world! And I agree with an earlier post, these books have made 100's of thousands of children, and adults, start reading again. That's HUGE! J.K. Rowling should be applauded for her creaativity and her ability to bring reading back into the forefront of entertainment again. Kudos to her!

Are you serious??? OH MY LORD!!! Take all the great literature away from the children - they might have an imagination and grow up differently than me. Banned and burned - please!

Wow lol - I was so about to go off =)~ Then I saw the Psyche. =)
I don't think there is anything wrong with Harry Potter at all, there is nothing in the book that "teaches" anything. It drives me crazy that there are actually people out there that believe Harry Potter is "the Devil".

ROFL! That made me laugh, thanks for that. Hehe. It's true though, a lot of people treat the series that way. I think it's more funny than anything.

I just love the Harry Potter books and so does my daughter and guess what neither one of us are Wiccans. We love the books for the entertainment, intelligence, and creativity. I believe the Harry Potter books have increased reading since I know many people who didn't read but decided to read Harry Potter. And not a one of them are Wiccans. Although i do not have a problem with Wiccans. To each their own as long everyone is happy. My mother in law is one of those who acutally do believe what you posted above with out the Psyche part. She hates that I let my daughter read the books and wathc the movies and I love that it bugs her and there is nothing she can do about it. I know. I'm bad. If you knew my mother in law you would understand.
