It seems like the honored tradition of sending out Christmas cards has gone astray. I remember that when I was little It was a huge deal to send out cards and get them all out in time. It just seems with everyone so busy that not as many do that anymore. Do you send Christmas cards or just an email?

I too have fond memories of getting more cards than there was places to display them. Back in the 80's we would put the cards we received on the door that led to the cellar. We decorated it with garland and taped the cards to the door. The door was covered from top to bottom with cards and we had to start putting them in another area close to the door. Now if we get 10 cards we are lucky. This year we only received 3 cards so far. I have received a couple of email cards, but for me it just doesn't seem the same.

Me either. E-cards don't seem as personal. I don't know why I think that but I'd rather get a card hand delivered or in the mailbox and not email. You doing better than me I've gotten one card from my sister so far.

I have gotten a few cards about 3 so far but I love getting them in the mail this time of year when everything is so stressful it is nice to get the mail and seeing a card there from a loved one or old friend

Normally it would be Christmas cards for me. I think I may go the email route this year. I am going to have a new baby anytime in the next 9 days. If the baby waits than I will be in the hospital & not home until the 24th or 25th. I have had so many other things that I had to make sure were done this season besides Christmas cards. I have 2 other children who I have to make sure are taken care of, get to school & such. I am sure everyone will understand this year.

I send traditional cards; I think some of my relatives would have a heart-attack or disown me, if I ever thought it would be OK to do it by email.
I think sending a card shows you cared enough to take the time to put aside all the other things you had to do, to buy the cards, do the writing, stick on the stamps and walk to the mail box. I try to write a personal note in each one, rather than sending a copy of a letter.
Real cards add to the decor in people's homes at this time of year too.
However, I have to admit, I couldn't care less about receiving them. My closest friends and I don't send them, since we see each other anyway. We agreed long ago not to exchange gifts or cards; since we'd rather enjoy each others' company at this time of year, than be out with the crowds hunting for gifts that we don't need.

I still send out Christmas cards. I always will, just got them all out yesterday. I can't afford to buy every one a gift so sending them a Christmas card is my way of showing my friends and family that I love them and am thinking of them. Do you send out cards or emails?
