Intentionally starting a fire when we are in the midst of a bushfire...

...that si rampaging violently throughout the state of Victoria in Australia.
It was on the news last night, thats oemone had intentionally started a fire, not far off from the bushfires. It is disgusting that Australians would do that to other Australians, particularly given the present situation. So many people are losing all their material possessions- thank god noone has yet been injured or lost their life! What should be the punishment for this type of horrendous behaviour/crime?

Some people can be crazy sometimes. Probably putting him/her in jail will do it for them.

Take that person stuf burn it and send them to jail. That would be the punishment I give them.

sometimes when you have a major fire going out of control they will start a controlled fire off to one side. usually between the raging fire and the community. what this does is when the raging fire hits the area already burned theres nothing left to burn and the fire seizes. was this the case?
