who has been to Alaska and what was it like?

I never been there, but I would really love to go there!

I haven't been but I am half heartedly trying to plan a trip with a friend. I live on the east coast, she lives in Wa state so she's closer. We are thinking I fly to Wa then we drive to Alaska. We have driven together across country 3 times now between Ma & Wa. So we know all about long drives. We just are now trying to figure out how much money this is going to cost and that will help us figure out when we can go. Oh why can't it just move closer !!!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to AK. My aunt and uncle are taking a cruise there in August. My friend went and he said it literally changed his life. He said they slept outside under the stars, saw bears and eagles, an icebergs. I wish I could go but I live on the east coast and it's expensive.. :(
