Nowadays, there are too many viruses, trojans, keyloggers and malicious scripts and softwares out there, aiming to steal your money and comprise your accounts.
How to keep your e-gold and other money safe?
- Firewall
a must!
- Antivirus system
effective and up to dated!
- Antitrojan system
like SpyBot search and destroy
Spyware Blast
You MUST have the above three systems installed and updated!
And always try to use firefox to access your accounts, NOT internet explorer!
More comments please!

Yes , if you want to keep your e-gold and other money safe , I think you must have a good Firewall first . Sencond is setting up long password . such as "m1o5r7e8i6n2f9o4" .

Well amazingly you can protect yourself for free!
Here are 3 good antivirus programs just get 1 - AVG antivirus, Avast antivirus, and there's a program called antivir.
Here are some good free firewalls - ZoneAlarm and Kerio (pick just 1)
Here are some adware, spyware, and malware removers - Adaware, spybot, and spyware blaster. Get all 3 of these. Use spybot first, adaware 2nd, and then protect yourself with spyware blaster. If you need more help don't hesitate to Send me a friend request and you can message me;)

Thanks - that was a lot of good advice.
I am using Panda Platinum and Ewido, these both should work well together.
Another thing, I never keep much money in my e-gold account, they are working in different programs.
When I start to earn more, I hope to find a card I can use in any ATM to take out the money very quickly.
Any suggestions on a good card I could use safely??

Yes there is a ton of malicious activity happenning.
I try to keep everything up-to-date and change my passwords frequently. Also, a good thing is to have a long password that incorporates numbers and signs. Works for me atleast!
Interesting story about phishing I would like to share. It just happened to my friend a few weeks ago. They received an email to update their norton anti-virus subscription. They followed the link, inputted their credit card information to buy another year of Norton...and wham...no subscirption and the credit card info was stolen.
So, even though the norton linked website looked exactly like the norton website..it was not legit. It was a copied version created by the phisher.
My only concern is, how do we know were not being directed to the wrong website when we log into our accounts?

I have all of those programs on my computer for security but there is no complete safeproof system since hackers are always finding ways to break through something and viruss and worms are becoming more advanced these days. There are a lot more things to worry about now than there used to be like phishing and other scams.

i followed an advice from a fellow user to use firefox instead of internet explorer and to use the SRK feature when typing the passphrase. i have read on the internet that egold is one of the most hacked sites ever and protecting your hard earned e-gold funds is a must.

okay, i already have an antivirus, it's called active virus shield, is it any good? Well, i do see it detects a lot of trojans, but some it cannot disinfect so it deletes the file, also i'm downloading zonealarm right now, and i'm also searching for spybot.
So am i all set now?

thanks i already got spybot up and running, but i couldn't download zonealarm, it downloads to around 62% and then stops, what could be wrong? It says that i need more authority like system administrator to run the full thing. And when i try to run it again it asks for a restart which i also tried but no luck.
do you know any good links where i can download a good free firewall and antivirus, you can message me if you have any,
thanks.

I am always very cautious with my 3 e-gold accounts, and check my computer later, and try to install more anti trojan programs.

There are fraudulant emails
