Real Christmas trees vs. fake ones.

Do you think real Christmas trees are better than fake ones? Real ones certainly smell and often look better. But so many people chop down trees to get their Christmas tree and then just toss them out later. Do you think that if people have a real Christmas tree, it should be required to be a live, growing one that they could perhaps use again the following year? All these chopped trees just seem rather sad. I think if trees are fake, they should at least LOOK real. Pink or white or yellow Christmas trees look very tacky. Opinions?

I have an artificial tree at my house. Personally I like the artificial trees better. They don't drop needles all over your floor and it's easier to hang ornaments on the branches.

My preference is a real tree but I can't afford one. I have Christmas tree I use every year and it's a green one I don't like the different colored ones. I think they look tacky. I love to see people the live ones after they are through with them.

This is an easy one for me. I'm allergic to pine oil, so for me fake ones are much better- they keep me out of the Emergency room! But, if you like real trees, go for it if you can handle the hassle and the mess. Pine trees grow fast, so I don't think cutting down a whole bunch of trees is bad for the environment or anything.

the real one is good but if compared to design and everything the fake one because you can do whatever you want and you can design them whatever you want and you can save them for the next christmas. more cheaper than buying real one every christmas.

We love our fake tree, it is already lit and ready to go. I know one of the traditions is getting a real tree and decorating with lights yourself, but we just like to make things fast and easier

We have a fake tree. I liek it ebcasue when I am ready to put the tree up I just go to the attick and pull it out. When we are done with it we just put it away. I love the no hassel part of it. My parents get a real one every onse in a while and to be honest I like my fake tree betetr.

we always used to have a real christmas tree when we were growing up and it was good, nice christmas tree smell. but i always remembered it being a pain when it was time to get rid of the tree. needles everywhere and then a tree to get rid of. Since living on my own I have always had a lovely, lifelike green artificial tree and I am really happy with it. my main reason for getting artificial was that i had a crawling baby and didn't want her to be crawling with the needles. also much less hassle when it comes to clearing up. my daughter and I also have lots of fun every year getting it out, she loves to sort the different sized branches for me. i think artificial must be better for the environment too, but i don't have any facts on that. Happy Christmas Everyone :)

Trees are very important because they provide shade and prevent erosion. Nowadays, just a little rain could cause floods. That's because there are less and less trees. I've never had a real Christmas tree. It's hard to find a real pine tree here. And if ever I can have one, I'll still prefer a fake tree. That's because even if you plant a replacement, it would take years before it grows tall. And besides, I could just put the fake tree in its box again when Christmas is over, then I'll use it again next year. I'll just buy additional trimmings. It's more practical. Don't you think?

I have always liked fake trees. I wish I could buy a real tree that I could plant later but I don't think they would grow where I live. Right now, because we have to large dogs we have a table-top tree. It's small but really cute and they can't knock it over when it's on the table.

I prefer a fake tree. Its less of a hassle to clean up behind. the real ones are cool too but i just dont like the shedding and things that come with it.

I think real ones are very pretty! They smell nice, too. But my problem is allergies and asthma. I can never have a real tree and if someone i know has one i can't be very near the tree for a long period of time! Also, fake ones are much less of a hassle to clean up after!

I am a big fan of the contempary look of homes. White Christmas trees are beautiful. Would I ever splurge to pay the money for one?? probably not. At my mothers hous she has a real christmas tree. The only thing I like about the real one is that the whole house smells really good. But the needles always falling on the ground and having to water it seems pretty annoying. This year my boyfriend and i went to his production shop and grabbed a fake palm tree and decorated that for our xmas tree. :) we decided to be a bit different. And last year i took a strand of xmas lights and made a fake tree on the wall. I'm 25 years old.. no need for a tree until I have children lol

real trees have that fresh wild smell and for my opinion that it's all it matters, you can have the most beautiful articial tree, it doesn't compares with the real one

well i always have a real one. i love them. but the older i get i think sometimes it would be easier to have a fake one. my real one does not even smell this year. so i went and bought the frebreeze holiday evergreen. works good. my friend wants to buy a tree that she can plant outside in the spring. i do think those colored trees are funny looking. to each his own right.
