My phone has rang 32 times today!Who has called me that many times, you ask?Damn TELEMARKETERS!!! Honestly, these people are really starting to get on my nerves! It wouldn't be so bad if they at least had the decency to call only during normal business hours,BUT NOO!!They call from 7am to as late as 10pm!A couple of weeks ago one called at 7am on SUNDAY morning! She will never call me again lol.Every time I answer,I tell them to put me on the DO NOT CALL LIST,like that works.Do they bother you, too? What do you do about it?they are driving me crazy!

Hey....
The main n foremost reason for this is 'Outsourcing'. The Telemarketing companies would give away the orders to other countries as outsourcing, the foreign countries like india (for u!!) would employ some persons for this purpose n do marketing....
For say if its 7am thr in USA it might 12am in india, people of telemarketing would mostly work in midnight here to match ur timings...
Obviously, it will irritate u to call on sunday morning....
The telemarketers would consider the aspects from customer point of view... then only a mutual solution wil b derived....

I think they bother everyone and they will not take no as a answer so i usally get so irritatedbecause they try and sell something that you do not want and they wont take no so i usally just hang up on them it may be rude but they should take no as a answer not keep on rambling on because you do not want something they are selling.

I realize they are just trying to make a living.I would definately like it set up such that calls like that can only be sent during certain hours and it be based on the area time(so no calls from the East Coast at 9 am which is 6 am on the west coast.)

Yes,if I were going to do such a job,one the first things I would do,would be to get a list of the world time zones. Then I would know what would be a good time to call.I would never be rude or call during non-business hours. These folks need to do more research.

I understand where you are coming from, but people do need to make a living. I agree with you about the hours though and that should be a lot better. I do cold calling for a living but I do business to business or to someone who has asked me for information. I do not call people out of the blue to talk with them and I do not like when people do not take NO for an answer. Then I usually hang up on them. Isn't that funny since I do it for a living?

No,Sweetie,I try to never be rude to anyone.(well except for the one that called me at 7 am Sundat morning)I am very understanding of the fact that some, and especially maybe disabled folks are trying to make an honest living, but if you only knew how many calls I get per week!I can't even take a nap.But I promise, should you ever call me,I would not be rude to you, even if I were not interested in your product.

I also have worked for different telemarketing companies. I hate it when people answer the phone and cuss you out. I understand you probably don't want to talk me or might not be interested in the product I am trying to sell to you but does that mean you can be rude to me? I am proud of the fact that I can sit in my little cubicle and call stangers on the phone for 8 hours a day for a paycheck. At least I am trying to bring in an income for my family and not sitting on my butt at home collecting welfare(which by the way your taxes pay for). So I ask you if some family member were trying to sell cook books for a fund raiser for their church would you cuss them out? You be rude to them? Please remember that the person on the other end of the phone probably doesn't like their job very much(I know I hated it!) but at least they are trying. Please just tell them to put you on their DO NOT CALL list and keep track of who you say it to. If they call you again you can report them and the company will have to pay a $5000 fine. If more people did this I think there would be alot less companies using this practice. Also they just passed laws last year I think regarding the times they are allowed to call people. Sorry I am a little long winded on this but since it is something I do when I am laid off from my job as a machine operator so I don't have to collect welfare I think more people need to realise we have feelings to so next time please just tell them you are not interested and to put you on their list and hang up. You would not believe some of the things people say to me or the names people call me. It is a very stressful job.

lol I know what you mean, before I registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which is a company in the uk dedicated to filtering out these telemarketers, I used to get a recording of a woman yelling out help me, he's going to kill me, and have dubs of a woman screaming followed by a loud slap, whilst I was listening to them, I played the recording, and wilst the telemarketer was talking I would say to that telemarketer could you please hold the line for a second, then I would say shut the hell up and play the slap recording, then go back to the phone and say sorry what was that you was saying again.. the amount of times they hung up on me is funny as hell, as I would have loved to have seen their faces.

Have you tried to put yourself on the national Do Not Call List? This is a totally different number that you call to put your number on it. I used to be in the same boat as you, but now I get very few calls. So few, in fact, I can now pick up the phone instead of screening my calls.
Another thing you can do is to fill out those credit card opt-out forms, or call them and let them know that you don't want to be solicited. I did this before the Do Not Call list came out. And, it significantly lowered the amount of calls I got.

Wow, I don't know how that last paragraph got that way. Basically, I was saying to call your credit card company and tell them not to put your name on any mailing lists. Or, fill out those opt-out forms that send you every year. For some reason, something got inserted into my second paragraph.

My name is on the no not call list as well, but they have made it so that certain organizations can still continue to call you. I hate to admit it, but I just hang up.

You might consider getting a new number and having it unlisted and unpublished. That way only the people you give your number will call you. I did that and I'm so happy I did. It cuts out the telemarketers completely. Good luck!

You are not alone. I tell them to take me off there calling list too and 2 days later I get a call from a diffrent person but same company, that is when I ask for there manager and ask them to remove my name and then normally I dont hear from them again. Try going above the telemarketers head it helped me.

Oh, how I love having Caller ID and being able to screen phone calls. It's awesome. We get a lot of unknown callers who are probably telemarketers. Chase used to call me like 10 times a day (not exaggerating either), but now it's down to about 2-4 times a day.

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Your registration will be effective for five years.

In the USA there is a national do not call list that you can have your number added to. It may not stop all the telemarketers but it will stop a goodly number of them.
Sadly your number ends up on a list...the state sells addresses to mailing lists, the phone company also...anything and everything is public and available for sale.
Try the National Do Not Call listing, I can't remember the site at the moment, but I believe the phone company has the toll free number for it.

well all this are due to outsourcing from your country to third world countries like India who do all the calling.the reason for outsourcing the marketing is that, speaking to my countrys context i.e,India..the labour is cheap in comparison to USA or UK.here the the centres taking up such outsourcing are called BPO or call centres and the job are quite high paying to for just graduates or school students.these call centres run throughout the day 24 hours and people work in shifts.thats why you get calls during all of the day.even when you are calling your customer care for comapnies like Dell,Wipro, etc you are actually calling India and they also handle such cases.

My dad gave me this phone number to call to stop getting telemarketers to call here, and it wokred but I cant find it, Im sorry :/
There is another number for your cell phones to dial too because I guess telemarketers are going to start calling cell phones!
