The moral decline in society today, is it caused by the music that the youth listens to, the television that they watch, music videos, video games, or what? I have heard, read and see so many different conflicts about this that I am wondering what the consensus of average people like us think that the problem is. So what do you think? What is wrong with the world today?

I know people will probably disagree with me but I think a bog part of the problem is that you cannot discipline your kids like you could when I was growing up. It seems as if anytime you look at your kid wrong someone is calling the cops or child protective. I never dared to do some of the things that kids do today. I was beaten either. You just knew not to do it.

I know when I was a kid we got our butts kicked, but we learned right from wrong. We knew better than to yell and scream at mom and dad nomatter what they said or did. I remember one time, I think I was 12, my mother beat my butt so bad that it bled. I threatened to have her locked up for child abuse, and she took mee down to the police department. I gave them the story of how my mom beat mee and even showed them the open wounds (at her demand). you know what the cop said?!? "What did you do to deserve it?" is what he said, so I told him that I punched my older brother... his reply "Then leave your hands to yourself and you would not have a bloody a**." I learned my lesson and I did not punch my brother again. I am not saying to bloody their butt but correct them is all. Quit being a friend and be a parent!!!

Our media, tv, movies influences us a lot. We might not become ax murderers, but we become indifferent to violence when we see it constantly. I tried to start a discussion like this one before.

thank you for the post and I will take a look. It is a shame how the media has desensitised our youth and I am sorry but I can only see it getting worse. Once again thank you for the post!! Have a great day!!

The culture always has some impact on people, but no I'm not one of the people that belives that a voilent computer game inspire people to kill each other. I watch a lot of movies and play a lot of games, but I'm a very calm guy. If you are not insane a movie wont make you insane.

I agree I do not think that the games nor movies inspire someone to violence unless they have problems to begin with. But I think that the entertainment mediums of today do desensitize (sp) the youth twords violence, there is no real shocking violence anymore, it is all over the news, in the games, in the movies... people wanting to see first hand what they see in the games, movies, and news. What do you think? Thank you for the post.

It is because of the rapid change which is taking place around the world. People dont have time for each other. everybody is running around in search of something.
