The only sensible answer is "it depends." I don't take in information very well by listening, so I do better if I can read things like instructions. I'm also a very fast reader, and if someone wants to read something to me, it drives me crazy because reading out loud is so slow. Some people are listeners, some are readers.

Obviously, READING is a lot better. Just compare how much a book can say than a friend who can talk for hours. Compare how descriptive a book can get. How it makes your mind wander through imagination and circumnavigate different places. Compare how rich and how expressive the author becomes in writing than in speaking. READING to me, is better than listening. It's very convenient, too, especially if you're listening to a person who talks nonstop. Whereas in a book, you can just close the darn thing shut if you got tired of it. But then again, the answer still depends upon each person. ;)

I think listening is good when one has to make better immidiate outcome.. like the one we have to respond for someth happening at present.. Reading is good when one has enough time to concentrate n practise.. Its like, slow n steady wins the race!!

both. reading should be complemented by listening to be more understandable. but still, reading is better. the father you read, the more you learn.

I think that both are good but when I listen to something (let's say someone who reads a book)after a time I feel like I want to sleep..... i prefer reading but I sometimes have some problems with my eyes so I can't read but listen
