Language is beautiful and there should not be any abberations in reading the language. As far as possible, one should write accurately without spelling mistakes. But all said and done, the people who are in mylot are from different parts of the world, many from non-enlgish speaking countries. To compromise on this, what can be said is the message should be clear, does not matter if one or two words are not spelled properly.

what a amasing pragraph friend you wrote of your own or copied its true that spelling is not immportant.communication is that to express the view and not to deliver it perfectly you should deliver what your coming to say.But in some places is spelling is neccessary otherwise you can identify your words correctly.some words have the same mixture of letters and that time you will be confused

I think spelling is important to be able to understand quickly. Yeah, your right saying that even if the words are mispelled you can still read it but it will take time. Time in figuring it out. I understand that not everybody can speak english so some find it difficult to speak so as to spell. Can you imagine reading a newspaper and everthing is mispelled?

as you can see from your message the human mind will automatically transpose certain letters if they are mistyped in a word. This also though can explain some of the spelling mistakes people make.

Spelling is very important in writing...to deliver a speech or writing...it should be spelled correctly especially in published books or any media that involves writing so spelling is important.

Yes spelling is important, athough I could read and understand the paragraph with very little effort, there was at least one instance where one of the respondents to your question has a very good handle on english as a second language but couldn't make sense of what you were saying. With the world being so small we must communicate with as few barriers as possible. That said, yes I am amazed at how quickly arrange those letters into words. LCOO!

I believe spelling is important because one thing it is hard on the eyes trying to figure out what the person is trying to say when their post is full of typos. Secondly what kind of example are we adults setting for the youger people who come here? A bad one I think. It shows them that sloppiness is perfectly okay.

Ohhh you dont know how much you are wrong to say its not important. Unless you want people to think you havve poor grammer. if you went in to put an application in for a job & the manage sees sloppy mispelled words,,there is nooo way he would hire you.
SPELLING & WRITING GOOD IS VERY IMPORTANT.

I think that spelling is very important. WHile we can usually figure out what is being said with messages like the one you posted, I don't think that we should just take our writing lightly. I think that our written word gives just as much an impression as our appearance and verbal communication.
