Exposing scams

I just saw a post on myLot that I know is a scam. Am I wrong for posting to the discussion letting other posters know it is a scam? I do not want the orignal poster to get mad at me, but I also don't want the other posters to fall for the same scam I did last month. It was for a home typist/data entry opportunity.
It is a scam because they get you interested by saying you can make $300-1000 per month, but they don't tell you much more. Then they ask for $7-20 for "training materials" which are basically instructions on how to post the same ad all over the internet and make money from sending individuals "training materials".

if you know that it's a scam, it's advisable that you respond to the discussion and tell everyone that you've tried it, and how you got scammed. that's the beauty of myLot, you are able to voice out what you are thinking.

That's right. Commenting on that discussion and telling everyone what you know will help a lot (I just hope the other posters get to read your comment, I know only a few people try to read previous comments before they put theirs.) And I know that MyLot doesn't allow promoting other websites. They'd probably clean that discussion up sooner or later anyway.

Voicing your opinion doesn't seem to help, I have tried to warn a lot of members about sites that are known scams, I find in most cases that right below where I posted stating that the site is a scam, another member will post that they have signed up to the site...or the original poster will post again the same sites in the same column...arghhhh.... it gets so frustrating, especially when I have been scammed so many times and by a lot of the same sites that are getting posted here, the only option I then see is to report the topic for the good of the members.

Sorry you fell for it, but you should know the tale tale signs ahead of time. Opportunity?? Thats a great key word to avoid like the plague.
Never pay ANYONE to make money! Online anyways, lol. The only way I would ever pay anyone like that would be to join a work at home forum and hear others that are using it and making $ with it. I would never take the testimoney from the one wanting the $, or their referals.
I would definately post anything I knew was a scam.
There are many many websites devoted to filtering these scams. Anyone serious about making $ online needs to join one these programs 1st.

It could be considered a scam because they left some important details out of the description, but I'm not sure. I don't think that you're wrong for wanting to let other people know, a lot of us are sick of scams and we appreciate the information. I'm just unsure as to whether or not you could call it a scam or not unless you've purchased the "training materials" and they ended up being totally useless and money cannot even be made with the program you're talking about.

I agree with you, that is a very common scam on the internet.
There is nothing wrong with warning people that a program is a scam, providing of course that you are certain of the facts before making the post. Disclosing a scam is showing consideration to others, but if you falsely accuse a program of being a scam then there could be problems.

well its very nice of you to make such post.and yes there are a lot of scams around a people who have been on the internet for someime are able to identify these scams easily.as for me i dont go for any offer that asks you to make any investmenst to join.i think you should also stay away from such offers.after all when you go and apply for a job in the real world they dont ask for money,do they!

By all means let other people know that it is a scam. You are entitled to give your opinion and you will probably save a lot of people from falling for the same scam. I would certainly let people know regardless of the consequences.

If money is the only and the ultimate, I mean inviting money for marketing money only, then every marketing plan is certainly a scam. But if any sort of product or service is offered / provided that carries the real worth of money against it, we can not call it to be a scam and it is simply specific business. Again if the specificity of the business is not clearly defined or understood, it is again a scam as the purpose of spent money is undefined. The case illustrated by you comes in this second catagory of scams, since it does not make clear about the actual work before one joins it. Thanks.
