X stands for cross Christ - mas Christ was put on the cross. X-mas meaning christmas. Where the name came from??? Dont know just guessing!!!

It is what People now use as short term for Christmas and it annoys me as far as I am concerned it is Christmas not Xmas but everyone to their own I guess
