MyLot should have an editing function for you in your own discussions!!

I think the platform for MyLot should include a way for each member to edit their discussion list. By this I mean we should be able to delete discussions that we find have no response after say, maybe a month? We should be able to edit out responses that are offensive to us as individual discussion starters. I find I have many one or two worded responses that are basically meaningless. There are also responses that are really offensive to the sensibilities.
I don't know if posting this will have any effect or if any one from myLot can answer why we can't have this. But it's worth a shot.

The problem with being able to delete messages is that it only promotes bias on the site. People complain enough about people not responding to things they don't agree with/find offensive, imagine the uproar if things could be deleted! If the responses are meaningless, you can report them as abuse. Not contributing to a discussion and just posting meaningless spam is against the site's rules, after all. As for ones that are offensive... everyone's entitled to their opinion.
I wish we could edit things, personally. I'm always finding little typoes and things I've forgotten in my own discussions!

No it isn't, and it's still easy to miss little things. Or to later think of another point you wanted to make.

I agree about being able to edit. I am not sure about deleting unless there are no responses as you stated. I don't think we should be able to delete any responses because if you delete it then that person's numbers go down and in the end you would have people deleteing responses just to lower the number of people they are mad at.

I think so too, but the user agreement states that only myLot has authority to manage content

I find that only to denounce he does not advance, therefore what I think I can be different of whom mylot thinks, however I must also understand that if we podessemos to modify, all I would erase the answers that do not please. E thus would leave of being an opinion.

That sounds like a good idea. I have some posts that I made when I was new that got no responses, but might if I reworded them, or started them today. I do not want to start the same one over again and duplicate. I get a few of those odd responses that are really out there, and I do not know what they relate to. I would be glad to dispose of them, too.

Ideally, it would only be available before you post your subject for the first time, in other words for proofreading. As far as misusing it to erase offensive responses, I saw another suggestion post that said perhaps a blocking function should be provided to block users who make comments that one finds offensive. That way you would be the one to block what you yourself find offensive, without endangering others scores by erasing their entries.

yes, you are quite right. Sometimes people do make mistakes and that cannot be avoided. I did missed out a word or two in one particular discussion and I went back to edit the discussion. After looking through the page, i can't even see an edit button so I just left it there. All I hoped was that people can still understand what you were trying to say even though the sentence doesnt make much sense to you. I wish they will take this message on board and look at it carefully so this community can enjoy a better website like this.

I agree that it should but mylot seems to want to build up their site by creating more pages although they do delete pointless and low quality responses once you report them. It's just that those people posting one word responses are interested in earning more than in really putting alot of efforts into their response. I find that asking some questions prompt a simple yes or no answer without elaboration and try my best to avoid them.

You are somewhat correct. Deleting the discussion is not wise I think. Unless people fell that your topic is relevent to discussion they will not respond to that discussion. myLot has to revise the discussions for some period of time before deleting the discussion.
