I think we have some differences in having the denotation and conotation of JIHAD in Quran. I heard a lot that University and college in USA discussing and debating about it eventhough they might be not knowing the real universal meaning of JIHAD. Even in my country, ustadz Abubakar Ba'asyir has been cought by the goverment because accused to misguide and mistranslate the meaning of JIHAD. What's that actually? We can live in peace although we learn a lot about JIHAD.

Jihad has not been defined by any univerisity.
Nor Jihad has been defined by any one man.
Jihad is a term which is the way you interprete the result of a work.
This interpretation varies for each individual human beings.
It is the way you interprete the result. It is not a work, it is the interpretation of the result of a work.
Thanks

well i heard from somebody:
jihad means to kill the enemy in yourself
now most of muslim organizations are misguiding muslim community by propogating false information.
somebody should stop them and muslim community should take the intiative....otherwise this terrorism is endless..

I think so many people has misunderstanding about the definition of Jihad exactly.
In Islam, Jihad means struggle in the way of God. So, it also means defend the religion too.
Actually there are so many forms of Jihad, if we struggle in life and we put that struggle in order to get the bless from God it also called Jihad. Cause we doing everything because of God, to do what God want us to do, especially what God told us in the Holy book.
So, Jihad actually not just about war anyway, we begin war if somebody attack us first, we defend ourself and defend the religion.
I think it's logic !

well cetainly is not terrorism, but then many people r using it as they think they're being suppressed by other religions...well i ask one question. islam has not originated in my country, but still i respect it...y doesn't it respect others, y it doesn't my country, y people want my country to convert it to islam. what harm has my religion done to islam, and can't u leave me??? i'm asking this question as terrorists in the name of religion r attacking our temples, well what shold we do..sit quiet. well i know most of muslims like to live in peace, but i also wanna ask someting. the things like what existed in those days, the barbaric and cruel laws like chopping of hands of a person who steals, without thinking y he has stolen, is he truly guity?? and such things..and can u believe, if a woman has to complain that she's been raped she needs 4 male witness...like 4 men'll be watching the rape scene and later give the testimony for it. don't u think we need to revise those laws....change with times....and i don't mean to hurt anyone..its jus what i feel shoud change. pwersonal view...nothing more. have a nice day

The translation of Jihad means "struggle". It can be used to define an inner struggle against sin or an outer struggle such as war or terrorism.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to try to claim that jihad isn't linked to terrorism or warfare. It obviously is, the people that commit the acts and recruit people to commit acts talk about committing Jihad and fighting for their cause for jihad for Allah.
