Should we give death row inmates the option of becoming experimental subjects?

As in: Hey, you raped and murdered 5 people. You can take lethal injection or be a guinea pig intstead. Possible experiments: experimental chemotherapy. AIDS vaccines. Antipsychotics. Benefits: You're not dead. But you might die a horrible death. If you live through one round of experiments you can live in prison forever. Or should we let them go, debt to society paid? Or: make them do one round of experiments per dead person they are responsible for.

I dont think that is a very good way to do things you need to make sure they are not being coerced if you do. I wouldnt want my cure to come from someone who was used involuntarily

true, it would have to be totally of their own will

on the other hand they violently forced their will upon their victims so why shouldn't they have experimentations forced upon them in return? Not like their victims had a choice so why should they?

No,the experiments wouldn't make up for their crimes. But they could give them some time off their sentence or some other kind of perk.Well maybe if it was a really extreme experiment they could call it even and let them go.Really extreme.

true, if extreme enough they may change their criminal ways, I think it would be a good program and could save many lives with what we could learn from the experiments. Maybe even some day complete wipe out cancer and such

Wow, that's something. I'd say if they do it voluntarily, then I don't see why not. If they don't want to, then they should just be jail for life and not let out into the world.
