What do you do with the replies to your discussion on myLot?

Do you read them all? Do you rate them? Or do you just ignore the discussion.
I read all the replies. I rate them all. And then I respond to some of them. I tried responding to them all but there were just so many and yet I don't want to appear rude by not replying. What's the best thing to do?

I have read all of mine, & responded when it was something to respond to...one or a few words signifying yes, doesn't usually warrant a reply. I always rate them, 99% of the time wih a +.
If you try to reply to all, you will be repeating yourself a lot!!

Yes, I try to respond to the good ones and give an + most of the time. The only time I give a - is when someone responds with a one word reply like "yes" or "no". I like people who can have a good discussion or debate.
Is it possible to tell what your posts have been rated?

So far I haven't figured out a way to tell what your posts have been rated. I know you can see your "best responses" but that's it.

I actually try to respond to as many as possible -- when it's worth an answer of course! I also rate them (needless to say, my friends usually get a positive rating, but some others do too). Unfortunately, it's pretty time-consuming and it doesn't seem to add to your existing points. I still do it out of respect for those who bothered giving me an answer to my discussions.

That's very good. :)
Only just now I was thinking.....here I am killing myself rating everyone and responding to all my friends posts where I can.......and I've noticed a couple of them don't resond to any of my posts at all. :/
However, I haven't been here that long so maybe I just haven't discussed anything that interests them yet.

I read them, & despite that there is no payment for replies to responses, I respond to ones that warrant them. Anything that looks like just someone trying to add to their earnings with nonsense get reported & that user gets a negative rating.

I have not started many discussions but do reply to every response in each one and rate Them. A good answer will get a +..I don't have to agree with it it must be a real thought pertaining to the topic. one line, word replied( unless it is all it needs) will get a -. I prefer to see what others are talking about and answer those. If they have topics i am interested in and not alot of violations, I will add as a friend so I can keep up wiht them.My first friend was SK. I love his poetry and stalking. I do alot of that.

well i am new to myLot and still trying to know this whole system and how it is working, Upto now i am in the process of responding every discussion i made, I think best option could be replying to as much as you can and stating in your profile the reason for not replying that is loads of posts. What do you think about it?

Stating things like that in the profile is a good idea I think. Mine might end up more of a rant though. :)

Whenever I create a discussion or give a response, I go back and check and read for new responses. I try to use this forum for what its first purpose is, and that is to promote quality discussions and conversations. You shouldn't just go back and respond with a "thank you" to those that take the time to respond to your discussions, you should try to encourage more conversation based on their responses. This way the discussion becomes meaningful.
I also rate responses appropriately (-)(+), and if I discover the response or discussion is plagiarized or copyright infringed, I will report it to mylot. I also make sure to award "the best response" to a response that stands out the most. Rule of thumb, if you leave me one or two words or a simple sentence that is almost a generic response--you will get a (-), (+) only goes to those that take the time to really contribute something provoking of thought.
I think when there are too many responses to your discussion thread, you can maybe respond to the first 2-3 pages of responses, and then read through the best and respond to the quality responses you get. For example, if you are left a simple response of a few words, don't waste your energy responding, but rate them appropriately. There are too many people on here earning off of nonsense.

So far I've only managed to write one with 3 responses so far, and I've put comments on them all. I think a lot will depend on how many responses you get, whether you would have time to read, rate and respond to. 4 or 5 as a response to a discussion should be ok to reply to but if you got over 50 then it could be quite difficult. I don't think it is rude to not reply to them all.
There is also the time factor, you wrote this 3 weeks ago, and I'm only looking at it now. How relevant is it to reply after this length of time?

I have no idea. I see that there are discussions that have been started months ago that are still getting replies. I'm not sure how it works. :/

Oh.....except that I can say it's relevant to me because I genuinely wanted to know what people thought on this issue. That's why I keep checking back. :)

I read them all, and rate them all, but you just can't respond to all of them unless you want to repeat yourself a whole bunch of times, which seems pointless.

There isn't anything you can do. Just try discussing something else. Sometimes I find that my topics start getting replies about a week later. :)
