I really loved it, if that is the right word for such a harsh movie. It was brutal, but it completely talked about the need for a change in this country. There are so many extremist groups out there who brainwash people, and spout their bs so that it sounds reasonable. And there is always the power of change within all our hearts.

I think it's a pretty good movie and shows how facts can be used to lead people to false conclusions. It also shows how people who are desparate in their situation, or are looking for a way to belong, will believe some pretty terrible things so they can blame others and find people they have something in common with.

You said it very well. When people are desperate, they do desperate things.

American History X is my husband's favourite film. Well I should say it is in his Top 10 pick of all time. I found it disturbing and hard to watch at times, but I agree that it carries a very important message about tolerance for others and how their are some really scary people out there.

I won't argue with you there. It is VERY hard to watch. The amount of violence and the tolerance we seem to have for it blows me away, but the message is so vital. It is probably my favorite too---tied with Crash. Have you seen that?
