on nov 25,06 me and my sister and a boy and his father went on a guided hunt from Jakes horses in bigsky Montana near the taylor fork.The first day we met the guides at 5:00 am fallowed them to base camp where the horses are at, we rode in to the main tent that we would be sleeping in that night,got situated and went out to hunt for rest of day light ,dident see anything went back to basecamp had some food went to bed. The next morning got up had eggs and bacon,got the horses ready and took off and went to the top of this big draw the giude told us the elk are in this draw so fallow it down to the trail take a right when you get to the bottom and we will be waiting for you and the trail we went down wes real bad and the kids had a hard time geting down dident see anything and we were pooped .so we get to the bottom and go right on the trail walk for 2 miles the trial ends so we went back to were we came out of hte woods and waited for them to find us ,we fired 3 shots every hour from 6:00-8:00 pm at 9:00pm we went to find shelter . We made a shelter out of tree branches and logs we could find built a fire and stayed up all night trying to keep the fire going so no one got hypothemia it was -5 degress out and snowing the next morning we started walking about 6:00am down the trail the other way and about 10:00 we found the guides and they got us on our horses and we left the woods .We got home at 2:00pm monday to a home full of worried people that were hapy we were alive .The next day i got a call from Jake and he was verry sorry that this happend and would do almost anything to make things right,so next yaer we re going to try this agin and hopfully it goes good this time.
