I enjoy both. It depends on what I am eating. If I am eating anything with an oriental flair, I choose fried rice. Other times it will be plain rice. I also love flavored rices.

I prefer plain rice because I can choose a variety of chinese, thai or japanese dishes to go with plain rice. I find that I can taste the original flavour and fragrance of the dishes better with plain rice than fried rice. On the other hand, fried rice is more oily and as all the ingredients are already added to it, it's better to eat it on its own and not to mix with other dishes. In a way, it is less interesting than eating plain rice with dishes.

No fried rice here. we boil it with must enough water to absorb and soften and it is usually with mixed vegetables. This is served with chicken or porkchops and on occasion fish. We get enough in a portion that way to have a decent meal.

In my country eating rice is a routine. during lunch I usually will eat plain rice with some protein like fish, meat or chicken. But usually in the morning people in my country prefer fried rice.
