Is it wise to invest in your children's education by sending them to private school? even though public school is free for everybody?

Yet, if public schools are up the mark there's little point wasting money.

Regardless of country it depends on the quality of the public schools in your local area, check them out, get opinions from the students and the parents, and not forgetting the teachers. It’d only be wise if public schools in your area aren’t up to the mark, if they are then it’s obviously a foolish waste of money and sending them their out of principle and stereotypes of “private=better” and at the same time not exactly setting a good example.

I think it depends on where you live. Some areas, such as where I live, have very good public schools, and here my choice would be a public school. Other parts of the country may not have such good public schools, and in those places it may be worth the extra money to send your child to private school.
