How do you release your depression?

I think nobody is always happy,and everyone may have a depressed time. Then how do you release your depression? Sometimes I may fall into depression when facing some bothering issues. when it happens,the first thing I do is to have a sleep. I think the depression may attack you more easily when you are tired, so the direct way to fight it is to have a good rest. I always feel better when I am back to be energetic. Sometimes I would like to sing loudly in my room without anybody beside. I think it is also a good method for me to fight with depression. Also it does work for me to watch cartoons and comedies! How do you release your depression? would you like to share it with me,and I wanna have a try. Thanks a lot!!

I think you are aware of how to handle a depression.I think you do a fantasting job in going to sleep.As major and common causes of depression is excessive stress,improper sleep etc.So its better to have a nice and sound sleep to overcome with depression..And in many cases I have expereinced that good sleep is the nice remedy in handling depression and many times also succeded in this act..But if it continues for many days then I should recommend to go for a good medical treatment..

thanks for your comments! it is really a professional response. yes,I can sleep when I am depressed. I don't know why. I feel tired and wanna go to sleep when I am in depression. when i wake up from a good sleeping, I feel better. Thanks the God for giving me the ability to fall asleep!!

Though it is rare for me, but whenever I deress, I do Pranayama. This site has helped me a lot : www.divyayoga.com. It is working on Yoga/Pranayama, based at India. Lot of reading materials on various types of ailments are available there. Lacs of people in India have been benefited since last 5 years. Obecity can also be cured by doing pranayama, even Cancer have been cured by doing 9 months pranayama regularly. My friends here can also visit this site, its is ultimate one on Yoga.

When I'm down I usually write down my thoughts and feelings in my personal diary. I put out what's bothering me and my diary helps me vent out. I feel so much better when I'm done writing and feel that the world is not such a bad place after all. I also write poems, my feelings come out that way.

Yes, sleep can help a lot, if you can. When King David was confronted with problems, he went to sleep after which he was alright. Good you can still do something to amuse yourself and get out of depression. If you feel your load is so heavy, turn to God, He is always there to help. Read and study the Holy Bible, be with God. He will comfort you. This is the best way to combat depression. May God bless you. SEN

the best way to come out of depression is to perform pranayam, simple breathing exercise, or meditation.Ihave tried both these methods successfully and have managed toremain away from depression.the method is to sit crosslegged on ground with carpet underneth and keeping your eyes closed,tryto breathe deeper and deeper,very slowly, such that you are taking only 4breaths per minute.during this process, push all the thoughts you get outside and try to keep your mind empty totally.sit like this for about 15 minutes and you will find your depression gone. Iam a yoga teacher myself and have taught this deep mindful breathing to many people.it really works well.

whenever i am depressed, i try to contact my boyfriend and tell him about my depression. he makes me feel that everything's gonna be okey. and he helps me to smile again. sometimes, i watch movies and television songs. i sing songs in karaokes, too.

I was once told that the number one cause of depression was stress/tension, so yeah resting is a great way to rid yourself of depression. These are ways I help myself get out of depressive stages. Resting, professional body massages they are expensive yes but worth every dime. Aromatherapy like maybe burn a cense that you really enjoy lavendar and chamomille work nicely for relaxation. take a hot bubble bath, if you have kids try to get a friend or relative to take them for a day so you can have a You Day. If your married, try to get atleast a couple hours to yourself, like promise your husband if you do it for me today, I'll do it for you when you need some down time. Works like a charm.

whevever i get depressed I see sky or i remember god & i say Oh, My god save me from this pressure or problem. then next moment i sing a song i always sing it is "chodna chodna chodna re" in hindi itmakes me happy & i forget every thing & i start working.

funny - i love cartoons!!!
i try to be happy almost all of the time..i don t like to let others to bother me ...it is true nowadays we deal with a lot of stress..but by doing exercises, going out with friends we can get rid of this bad feelings..for egsample i like to go shopping...!!!you can try to..it is fun..or u can go out with somebody that makes u laught ..not to ension a happy movie or tv show!!!

It's good to hear that you are helping yourself find some ways to overcome depression. I suggest that you make a journal everytime you feel depressed to be able to express yourself and anger. you join organization both in school and in the community to make yourself busy that your mind won't have the time to think of depressing things in life.You may also consult a psychiatrist to help you out since they professional that knows how to treat it.

ok,I will try what you told me! thanks for your comments! I do find that being busy working can help much! If I find I am depressed too much I would go to consult a psychiatrist. These days I am busy with my dissertation,so I think I am okay,especially when enjoying mylot! Thanks again! have a good day!

I normally like totake a nice warm bath and enjoy my favorite treat. Sometimes I just dance untill it hurts. Thats also how i release anger, I take it out by doing something i love the most.

If you want to take an alternative route away from mainstream antidepressants, try yoga for one month, and see what it can do for you. You have nothing to loose, if it doesn’t make you happy at least it will get you in shape!

I can't seem to release it. I try to...but fail. Hanging out with my friends, watching tv, play a game...none of this works for me. Too bad. :(

well when i feel depreseed i on my pc and sit it and start listening songs and take one cup coffe and after that i feel relax and i love to do it andit is really good for me too

you can do one more thing, you should try to remember your sweetest memorable moments, it will fill your heart with happy and pleasure, you will feel yourself fresh, in the time of depression, dear friend you can overcome easily from depression, you find out first how you are going to be depress, find out the reason, and you think about that problem so you can easily overcome the situation of depression have a nice day

As you said Depression is faced by allof us, and i think the best way to tackle it is either call in frnds and chill wid em....go watch a nice comedy movie.... or see cartoons...go out wid frnds for dinneror lunch... Depression strikes mpostly in the Subway in winter time i dont know the reason why but yeah soo den i just tryto divert ma mind by thinking sumthing stupid and start smiling or i listen to some reall tappy no's on ma ipod...

Well iam one of those rare persons who very rarely feel depressed, stressed, tension or any mental trauma these symptoms just dont come to me easily. But yes whenever if i do get depressed and that always happens only when i have a serious fight with my girl friend(this happens very rarely) but yes when i do get depressed because of her i do three things 1) I get alone in my music room 2) Start listening to Jagjit Singh's Gazals. 3) Drink a lot of actually loads and loads of Pepsi. this way i remove my depression or stress.

I try to fight against. And ai have my methods, like change my loo to better up my self esteem, watching stupid and funny movies, hang out with my friends. THe basic is prove yourself you are a great person and you have the right to fun!
