We have a dishwasher at the place we are staying right now, but I actually prefer washing by hand. It relaxes me.....

It would be one thing if I didn't have to do one to two times a day, otherwise they just don't get done. If I only had to do them once in awhile, it would relax me a bit too. Cause I do like the feel of water on my hands.

I am soooooooo sorry that you have to do dishes by hand.
I grew up doing dishes by hand and then when I got married, we had a dishwasher.
Then we moved to a place that didn't have a dish washer. I hated it!!!!
So from then on out, I made my demand known. LOL Must have a dish washer!!!!
Now, I have children that do chores. Even better because they put the dishes in the dish washer. ha ha But I still do not mind helping them or doing it myself. I am one of those people that like to clean up as I go. So normally, they only have to rinse plates and stick them in at the end of dinner.

I am sorry also. I forgot to put that into mine.
I remember one time that we didn't have a dishwasher and we had to do them by hand. But, we all worked as a team. One washes, one dries, one puts up, and if anyone else wanted to help...we would squeeze them in somewhere!! :D

I was fortunate to have a friend sell me hers for $80. It is a portable washer. My dream was to own a dishwasher (pathetic), especially when all 4 kids were living at home. With just the two of us, it is great to toss the dishes into the dishwasher and fire it up once a week.

I have an automatic dishwasher. I have to rinse the dishes before I put them in because it's not a scrubber. I also have some things that cannot go in the dishwasher so I wash them by hand. Sometimes it's almost as much of a headache to load/unload the dishwasher as it is to just wash them.

I have the luck of having both. I was dishes by hand and I have a dish washer. There are certain things that just can't be put into a dishwasher so I still have to wash those things by hand.

I hand wash my dishes. Occasionally I will wish that I had a dish washer but then I think it would make me feel like I wasn't doing enough around the house. haha. Even though I know it would help out a great deal! . .
But I actually don't mind doing dishes.. The only time I really have a problem with doing dishes is when dishes begin to pile up.. Or people don't do there dishes after them & leave them for me to do.. That would make anyone become irritated.. But I find washing dishes is so much more enjoyable when you have someone to talk to while doing them.. If you have to do it on your own sometimes it feels like it takes forever to get them done..
But in the future I may invest in getting a dish washer.. But for now I just make due with what we have currently.

I hand wash my dishes, I don't like dishwashers, I had a dishwasher in my house when I bought it but I got rid of it, maybe if I had a big family i would think about it but I think t is better to hand wash them.

I have a dishwasher, but actually prefer to wash them by hand. Is that considered strange?

I just recently finally replaced my dishwasher. I had been without one for years though and now I'm spoiled again!!! I love it!

I wash all of our dishes by hand. It's by far my least favorite chore! I've tried doing them after every meal, do them as I dirty them, and letting a full sink (and then some) stack up first thinking maybe I'd find a better way so I didn't hate it so much. No such luck!

I am fortunate enough to have a dishwasher to do the majority of my dishes though there are some that I still do by hand but not very much. I think most of us dislike washing the dishes by hand as it is time consuming and makes your hands feel all yucky. :-)

I wash my dishes by hand, no dish washer for me. I hate doing them too but I don't trust anyone else in this house to do them right. I am very fussy about the dishes.

Unfortunatly I have two. Both of my hands. LOL. I really hate doing dishes and I had three daughters that should have been doing them. Two have moved out and I still have one at home who is 17 and doesn't do dishes, cleaning, cooking, or vaccumning.. I can't get them to do nothing.
I have tried to do the strike thing but my house just got worse and I couldn't take it any longer. I just had to clean it up.
My house isn't like spotless place but the dishes are washed everyday. I just don't dry them. I let them air dry and then put them away.

I have a dishwasher, so I only wash a few things by hand.
These last two days we've all been snowed in (5 in our house) and it seems like I run the dishwasher 2 or 3 times a day with us all at home all day and night.
