Does banning soda and candy really help the obesity problem?

Even though our school recently banned soda and candy this year, I really don't think it's helped the obesity problem at all. At lunch, students still have the option of buying foods such as frito boats, pizzas, and other junk foods. These foods contribute so much more to the obesity issue, yet no one seems to understand that soda and candy aren't the only culprits. Without soda, students turn to Gatorade on our campus, which is almost as bad as soda in terms of sugar. If we're to solve this health issue, the schools should at least start with changing the foods they sell to kids at school. What do you think?

Exactly. I really think that the school's banning of the candy and soda just makes kids want to buy them even more when they're out of school.
