Are you obsessed with popping the bad posts here at MyLot?

I have seen a ton of posts griping about cheaters. Is this just an excuse to make posts? Are the cheaters hurting your money? Don't you think the mods are smart enough to not pay the idiots copy/pasting other people's posts? My feelings on this: Ignore stupid posts, report the cheaters, let the mods do their jobs.

Amen to that! Got another one doing it now. 3 days in a row griping about cheaters. Talk about milking it.

i think there are pros and cons with these discussions. it will be boring if too many of the same discussions kept popping up, i have to admit but then it's also a good way of alerting us on who is the one who cheats..i, for one, hates those who copied and pasted responses in my discussions.

I can see your point. Knowing what members are doing copying can be helpful. I just saw some hypocrasy in the same person making the same post everday about cheaters. I was a bit irritated when I first posted this thread. After further analysis of the situation, I do agree that copiers should be busted, but other types of cheating should be busted too. Cheating is cheating regardless whether it's copy/pasting (which is plagairism and highly illegal, if one wanted to be technical about it) or simply rewording the same post daily in order to be paid for adding more posts. You're right tho, there's good and bad in this situation.

If no one reports them then they end up getting away with it VI. I have had people actually copy and paste exactly my discussion topic back to me as a reply and I have had a few people reword the topic and post it as a response which just burns my butt!

I'm starting to think no one bothered to read my original post all the way through. Repeat: "My feelings on this: Ignore stupid posts, report the cheaters, let the mods do their jobs."It's not only the copiers that are cheating, it's the same people trying to repost the same crap every single day in order to make lame posts to rack up money that are irking me. No where did I say to not report plagiarism. If others have time to go read every single post and search for this stuff, that's great. I don't have time for it. If a post title holds no interest, is repetitive or sounds lame (like "do you eat?"), all I'm saying is if no one replies to that crap, they may stop posting that crap. We are debating a whole different level of cheating than what this thread was supposed to be about. I can see why copiers irk you, they irk me too, but that is not the type of cheating I was talking about. Lame topics and repetitive topics are cheating as well...plus I was irritated when I first posted. You'll see the date is not today. I had been getting message after message from the same person on the same topic (but as the start of a NEW thread) for several days in a row. The topic was cheaters. In my opinion, their act of reposting the same thing every single day instead of adding to the original thread is cheating, thus my attitude problem. Redheads get cranky, sorry.

Cheaters never prosper!... Ok well they do for a while and then they get caught out, leave it to Mylot to deal with them and be judged and executed if neccessary.

It's funny that I have been looking for robber's lately, but then again one time I put a post up and when it was submitted the site gives you similar discussions below... I saw basically the same one I just started! But I really have been reporting the one word answer ones as well as completely copied ones!

Yeah, that has happened to me. That's why I wish they would give us an option to delete our own posts like every other forum online. I have also messed up and hit the minus instead of report where some woman was all up in this one thread calling the woman who started the thread a "b"...I really meant to report that one! Ooops! Thanks for stopping by & thanks for the add :)

Hopefully the next time they alert us they will include that as an option!

I'm kinda new here, but what I've been trying to figure out is why/how people with questions about favorite colors and pizza toppings wind up with so many responses. Don't know if this ties into this discussion, but when I read your post I thought of this.

I tested that theory, few of my serious topics get any action, but by golly, I start a thread with "name your 3 favorite things containing chocolate" and that gets a lot of action. Go figure :) I wouldn't really call it cheating, just a lame topic, lol. Thanks so much for popping in. Your response is appreciated.

They are the people that are here to make money I assume, and living in the US it's really mere pennies to us anyways... I enjoy this site mostly because there is a diverse set of opinions and if you get a good topic going the comments can be entertaining or informative!

that's what has been fascinating to me as well -- it just seems difficult to find intriguing posts that don't sound like tabloid headlines. They're here but you have to wade through a lot of pointlessness to find them.

This is true visitor, but heres the thing, if something is on your mind does it do you good to keep it in, or to just say whats on your mind, I think everyone is aware of the moderators job even though they do not make themselves known to the community which is a good thing as it would just make everyone more consciencious of what to post. I just give the stupid posts a negative rating and report them.

Sure, say what's on your mind. No problem. BUT, does one necessarily need a brand new post to do it in? If one already started a post on a topic, one should return to that post and make another comment instead of posting the very same thing every single day in a brand new post. I do believe that's against the guidelines, but I'm not postive so don't quote me on that, please. The mods are doing a fine job as far as I'm concerned. Either way, I'm still not going to go "cheater hunting" nor am I going to open a new thread on this topic every single day. Does any of what I'm saying make sense?

Agreed ..in fact we should not give any attention to such posts..it is better to focus on the posts of the people who raise valid issues which need replying...I m with u on this..

Thank you very much for your response. I feel like if we ignore them, they will go away or at least put a little thought into their topics.
