Do you think Donald Trump did the right thing pardoning Tara Conner?

What do you think of the recent news of Miss America, Tara Conner, and underage drinking? Do you think Trump did the right thing by letting her keep her crown? Or do you think this is sending the wrong message to young people across America?
I can see both sides of the picture. He did require that she enter rehabilitation. This is good and could lead other teenagers to making a decision to get help.
On the other hand, it opens the door for more party girls in the future. They know they won't immediately be asked to step down. I feel this isn't the proper image for this kind of role model.
What do you think?

I don't think so. She broke the rules she should have lost the title. I know she is supposed to go into rehab, but I felt like there are so many girls in these pagents who are following all the rules and fighting to win, yet they see a girl break the rules and the law and still keep her title. I don't think that's fair to the girls who were following the rules :( I believe in second chances in some cases, but she signed a contract and broke the rules - so I don't think she deserved one.

Well if something in her contract specified that, then she should have given up her title. You're right, she's a role model for young girls. By letting her get away with it, she's just showing young kids that if you have a title like Miss USA, you can get away with anything.

Yep, she's showing young kids that if you cry and act sorry, you'll be forgiven. That's not really a good role model if you ask me.
And what's with all these pagent girls? I've heard of 2 others who got wild and lost their titles since this girl. It's just getting ridiculous. Pretty soon people are going to think pagents are a joke.

At the end of the day, "Kids will be kids," is real, and people DO make mistakes. I think the moral of story here is what message the WHOLE story sends rather than just part of the story. Making mistakes like this one happen, and they are not good, but the comeback story and the ability to overcome things is a better one.

I support what Donald ended up doing, because I think it helps to show people that rehab is an option, rather than just giving up on life. It isn't the best possible option for a Miss USA to be partying this much, but if she can truly mend her ways, then I think that the competition can gain back a little respect.
